what all do you need to do a track day?

figured this would be a good post to sticky also...

I'm interested in getting on the track but don't really have the money for full leathers. I do have icon timax pants and jacket is that acceptable?

What else and how about a broad price range?

Helmet I am sure you have
gloves $50 to $100
Leathers $100 to $1500
Boots $100 to $300
Back protector $50 to $200
Gas cans

You can buy alot of stuff used online on the CCS and WERA BBS boards.

Once you get that stuff things like an Ez up wheel stands coolers for food and drinks and other otems to help you get through the weekend you can pick up little by little

With your two pice combo you have going on there you might be able to get by with it in the novice groups but I would not recomend it for more than the first couple of times. You skin is valuable don't skimp on it. I have a set of leathers you can borrow if you need them. They are my back up set and if you like thme I could sell them to you. They will be on display Friday evening at the Oval!!!

Before I start, Im assuming you are starting in the begiiner class?

Steve has the basics of what you will need....

Nesba does plan to offer leather rentals on a limited basis this year.

sweet im free friday night and i was wanting to bring the 110 out... ill see if I can get it out there, PM me the address!

Looks like I'll have everything but the leathers.. boots, helmet, gloves, etc. all taken care of.. I actually have my old leather jacket I could wear but I'd have to go with the Timax pants.

What about pricing to do the track day itself? Don't you need a membership or something too?

I asked about your experience because I don't want to recommend using yourr current gear for too long if I think you may soon move up to the intermediate class.

Do your pants and jacket zip together at all? Just in back or completely around.

For Nesba, I believe you can wear your current gear (pants, jacket, gloves, helmet, boots) for the free introduction sessions. If you decide to ride the rest of the day or come back another day, you will need a full circumference suit.

You should be able to pick up a good used leather suit for $200-400.
