CLSB - Blackhawk - Ken, ... why not ???

Ken, this is might be a little off the wall and i know that putting on the track days is a pain in the butt for you but please think about this. Nesba has no track days at Blackhawk from May 15 until July 30. Additionally, there aren't any Nesba dates in August and only 2 days in September with no dates in October. As i plan my track days for summer of 2005, i thought that it might be something that "we" should reconsider. Yes, i will run Autobahn a few times but between Nesba and STT, how much do i want to? Additionally, i would assume that Blackhawk is truly feeling some competiton from Autobahn and might be a little more customer friendly.. Hey maybe Autobahn is God's gift to us and it is the place to be and maybe Blackhawk has outlived it's usefullness but i am not so sure. (i haven't been on the track at Autobahn, other than a tour on it last summer by car). the good thing is that the chicagoland area has another track option at this time but i like variety. Please give this some thought. Maybe it's just another of my bad ideas.. Thanks for putting on the previous tack days. .. .. JR

There are other track organizations besides STT and NESBA if they don't fit into your schedule. Privatetracktime, run by a local racer, has dates at Autobahn and Blackhawk mid-week (usually mid-week). Every Monday after a Blackhawk race weekend has a trackday put on by Lockhart Phillips. It usually has a VERY light grid (most of the time around ten bikes per session) and is priced lower than other orgs. On Gingerman weekends, they have an LP day on Saturday.

From what I understand, it was costing ken money every year to do it for everyone. And I dont mean pocket change, quite a bit of money. it just got too taxing.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

I believe he needed something like 2 days of 50 riders at $150 a piece just to cover his insurance costs. He couldn't even fill those spots consistently not to mention the time he spent organizing it. Then on top if it, you've got all the cheap asses that commit and then never pay because they saved $10 the week before or after at another trackday. It just isn't worth it.

sorry bro, there is no CLSB track days this year, and for me they would have been at blackhawks.

the reason is i put up a poll, to ask about this, the replys i got wernt even enough to fill 1 "thats right" 1 track day alone!

there for from the response there is no need for me to go threw it all.

also to which i take ANOTHER PRIVATE policy for myself for saftey on insurance incase someone trys to sue me "i have ALOT to loose" and unless i hold 2-3 track days ayear in which if i cant get 1 day spoken for. i sure as hell wont get 3 filled.

supply and demand it wasnt there.

sorry.

hopfully next year people will be more into doing CLSB track days, and give me/us the support we need for a private track day among friends and members.

later

thanks for the reply.. If the insurance factor is what is breaking your back the most, then i think that we should start a corporation, (it is very simple and not costly) or LLC, so that you don't need the private liability insurance. If we can't get 3 or 4 track days at Blackhawk, i am surprised. Maybe it's too late for this year but i think we should re-poll now that it is the beginning of the season. Also, for guys that sign up and don't pay by a certain time, they are dropped from the list (and publicly humiliated).. i am very happy to assist you on this matter. either now or in the future. The bottom line is that you have to take in more money than you spend. How many do you need to run to cover costs? In any case, we are all adults here and i only expect the sport to grow.. call or email me if you would like to discuss further. JR .. 847-899-3230 .. email: [email protected] .. p.s. like someone said before, you don't miss something until it's not there anymore.... ..THANKS, for putting together the events that you did..

i need 55-60 people each event to break even.

but thank you for your effort for trying for more CLSB days.

thats mighty, glad to hear your kind of enthusiasm
