CCS Racing, August 26, 27 at Blackhawk!

Okay, I'll start this thread up.

Who's showing up? I'll be there for most of Saturday, MAYBE Friday night as well.

LBK, I found an abundant supply of Tostitos "hint of jalepeno" chips at the Jewel in Gurnee. If the soccer moms haven't taken them yet, I'll stock up next week

This is the Wegman Benefit weekend (great party). This will also be my last CCS race weekend this year, some silly people decided to get married on race weekends for some reason.

30???

Gordon Lunde and the Wegman Benefit Fund have done some really wonderful things for the racing community, stepping in to help families meet medical expenses for injured racers. www.wegmanfund.org

There will be an auction Saturday night - bring money to bid, or an item to donate to this great cause. And plan on a GREAT time!

I'll be there on Saturday, but I won't be racing...

I'm attending the Learning Curves race licensing clinic that day. I guess if you count the mock race at the end of the day racing, then I am.

I'll be the guy on the sanded to hell blue, black, white, and primer gsxr-600 It may look like hell, but it runs pretty dam good.

Question: What would be a good gearing setup for BHF? I have pretty much a full set of sprockets front/rear. I can't remember what ratio is on there now.

With the LCR school, the goal is pretty much to keep it upright. That's the only thing that will stop you from getting your license. I wouldn't worry too much about "ideal" gearing for that. If the weather is good, the school will be packed. Last time that weekend had around 50 or so students. don't expect blazin' lap times at all during it.

If you have time, hit some of the heavyweight races on Sunday.

Stick around for the auction and partying Saturday night and Sunday for the races. Hell, you are paying for it since they no longer give you money back if you cut off your wristband.

I might hang out to watch on Sunday, but seeing as how I don't have race bodywork (an oil catch pan mostly), I don't think it's happening. Plus, first time out on the new bike, I'm prolly gonna be slow as hell, running like 1:30's or worse at Blackhawk for a while

Um, I think races are priced $75 for the first race, $55 for the second, $30 after that.

Wrist band.. Once you put it on it gets you into the track. Last year they allowed you to get some of your money back if you cut it off at the gate. This year they don't allow that. So if you come in on Saturday and leave before Sunday, it's the weekend price

*bump* I've got the chicken legs unthawing now. I've "improved" the wing sauce. No more of that pansy Famous Dave's Devil's Spit. It's just straight Franks Red Hot, Franks Red Hot Buffalo Wing, some Habenero Sauce and cayenne pepper. Best bring the charmin.

Looking forward to Saturday's school, but I'll have to miss out on Sat night and Sunday. I forgot that I have Dive Rescue Team training all friggin day Sunday.

I think I'll pass on the wings-of-fire...don't need to mess up the wetsuit on Sunday

It depends where Dave is pitting. Lately he's been putting his RV on the outside of the exit of turn 5, almost by turn 6, right by the power board. It's considerably quieter there and safer if he has his son. It's also right by a loud speaker so you can still hear the calls. I'll probably tent camp this one (hell, I have to do it once!)

I have to call Dave. He took a week of vacation to have some fun with Ethan and he's probably still playing catch up at work. Ofugit is out since he is heading to Bristol NASCAR race. The highlight of the evening will be drunken phone calls to Ofugit (unless he calls me first).

Food starts after the races. I usually do all the bike unloading as soon as I get there so I don't have to screw with it in the morning.
