we signed up for the weekend at BHF

We already signed up.

How do they run their events? sim to nesba? 3 sessions? or all at once open track? The web site is a bit ambiguious

Quite similar to NESBA. He has less CRs in the beginner group, none in the others. Virtually NO lunch break though, just a little breather so they can bring their cornerworkers in for some food.

Leon is a great guy and serious about keeping repeat business. Even his Wednesday ones are close to sold out, he's getting dealerships and bike forums to sponsor him (meaning they buy a bunch of seats before to help with paying).

Something from a buddy of mine, c/p from another forum... in case anybody's interested:

To get a perspective of the track for this weekend's FUSA event that I'll be announcing, I'd like to do the track day on Thursday. Having everything but a bike, I'd like to make the following offer ...

I'd like to buy a ride in a novice or intermediate group. This might work well with somone who is running in the Advanced or Racer Practice groups. Ideally, this would be on a 600cc in-line four for a rider who is 6' 0" tall and weighs 220# - 235# in gear.

Aside from buying / repairing / replacing anything I may break and buying gas; my thinking is that if I ride half the day, I should pay half your fees. We can figure the numbers out to a fair deal.

Yes, there's risk in everything - and anything can happen; but I likely won't even be running hard enough to get my knee down and I'm not out to do anything more than study the course. In all the bikes and cars I've done this with, I have yet to wrinkle a machine.

Should this sound like a good deal to you, I hope to hear from you OFF BOARD by direct contact.

Thank you for your consideration,

Griff

Spectators is only $5.00 you stop at main gate office sign a form pay $5.00 and get a wrist band, you can virtually drive all over the facility and check out the entire track and building that they are doing. I recommend, driving around in your car/truck and checking out all the dirt/rock roads and seeing all the different vantage points, lots of potential. The place is nice......

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

If there is a fee, it's paid to the facility. Leon doesn't charge a cover for the events (at least at Blackhawk).

I live 5 mins away, I am there all the time, I go in to watch all track days and car events when allowed. Love having this in my back yard. I am used to attending AMA/CCS at Moroso in West Palm Beach, FL. So this tracj having been open and now having more and more motorcycle events, I just love it. Hope we build a great repour with them and start to get actual racing going on there....

I will have the TT out there and will look a bit like this: (except my kneesliders will be worn in a bit, YAY!)

Not a prob. Not sure if that's correct, but it works for me. Mostly I've gotten to the point where I know by the sound of the bike. Listening for those hums around the sharp ones.

Damn! I had never crashed on a track before.. and the first 2 times I was ever on a track it was pouring rain.. Felt like such an idiot.. not so much for how I crashed, but why..

You always hear racers talk about how they just wanted to get that last little bit out of their tires and BOOM... I always think, why dont u just slow up a bit if you know your tires are, or bite the bullet and swap em?... its just not worth it.. then I go and do the same stupid ass thing... I guess I thought i wasnt going all that fast so they would hold.. but.. must have been going faster than i thought eh? fast enough anyway

Knee is hurting 10x as much as it was at the track.. prolly not a good sign.. and the leg is mostly purple.. my only hope is its just bruising and not tendons or ligaments..

In any case great to meet you today! I would definately say you were one of the fastest guys in our group today (I dont know if you realized it but I shadowed you on my first session for 2-3 full laps riding right on your ass...) You looked good out there, good lines and very good body positioning!

I'll post some pics when i get off my lazy ass... Damn shame nobody had a video of that... I would so LOVE to see it... (dont you wish you could play back for people the things you see? looking down at that ground as I was flying over it and thinking.. "shit that ground is moving awful fast.. hope this kangaroo is all they said it would be... this is gonna really hurt.... oh well"
