MotoGP Notes: Chris Vermeulen Gets The Call?
by julian ryder

Honda rider Marco Melandri is definitely out of Malaysia with 30 stitches in his heel. The good news is that he should be back for Qatar.

Troy Bayliss' arm injury sounds unusually bad with a total of twenty screws used to repair it. Will Troy ride again this year?

Usually reliable sources say that Chris Vermeulen will ride
Bayliss's Camel Honda for the last three rounds of the MotoGP season (the World Superbike seaosn will have ended then).

The young Aussie would therefore start at his home track in Phillip Island, go to Turkey where no-one has raced before and finish at Valencia—where he has raced on Superbikes.

Very very cool. He's been tearing it up in Superbike enough, now I will finally get to see him run GP.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Nice! Always liked him in WSB putting the hurt to Haga, let's see how he does now.

Fuggin AWSOME - The battles he and Nori have been involved in this yr have been great and anything "Non Corser" related is great to read!!!!!

Vermeulen has got mad skills. Odds are he will be MotoGP champion more than once when he gets over there fulltime.

I'll take those odds. He's good, but remember how good Nicky was when he was in AMA, different league of talent in Motogp.

Vermuelen is smokin but in my opinion, he'll fair just about as well as the other WSBK stars that raced MotoGP. Before you even mention MotoGP champion.. lets see if he can win a championship in WSBK.

check out what Jeremy Burgess had to say about Chris Vermuelen

Good read and all very valid points - I do like Stoner too

Chris Vermeulen won the World Supersport championship before he went to WSB. I think you guys are right. MotoGP is a different animal.
