Who would loan me a Lap Timer?

Anyone have a laptimer that they would let me use on Sunday 10/9 for at least one session so I don't have to hug a CR for my time???

BusaGirl,

If that doesn't work out, hit me up for a session. I'll be there. Or if we are on the track together... I'll follow you and give you the time.

Just like all the others, I've got one sitting unused in my house. Let me know if you need it, but I'll be out of town this weekend. Of course, considering I have to travel south for 45 miles to get to Strats, it's a serious haul for you to pick it up.

It's as good as you are Dave.

In a normal lap timer, the timer picks up a signal at the start stop line and automatically stops the prior lap to the hundredth of a second, and starts the new lap. At Auotbahn North for example... that would be at almost exactly the fastest speed that you would ever be on that track... so, the worst time for you to worry about starting and stopping a lap...

If you end up tracking that bike often, you'll need a real timer. However, if you just wanna rough guess, as you get more comfortable on that bike, and on the track, you'll be able to hit that start/stop button without looking. DO NOT look down at it, that would NOT be good.

Good luck on your first day on the track, I had a blast on mine. Just keep that pretty new 6R all Blue.

Safe riding,

Wink

PS - Just follow Erin if you can, she'll tell ya how fast you went.

That's not exactly the kind of lap timer you want to use on the track. I have a built in lap timer on my '04 ZX-10R and I don't use it. You have to manually hit the lap button and the start/stop button, which makes it much less accurate than a real lap timer.

I use an XT racing lap timer, which I like very much.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
