Freddie Spencer thoughts?

Ok, so I am hooked. Yep, I have the bug like all the rest of you trackies.

RoadAtlanta is coming up in two weeks. I am PSYCHED!!

But alas, that will be the "end" of the season. So in an effort to extend my season, I signed up today for Freddie Spencer http://www.freddiespencer.com/ High Performance Riding School from Dec 14-16 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Once again, I am PSYCHED!!

I was looking for thoughts and feedback for anyone who has ever gone to any kind of formal riding school. I want to make sure that I get the most out of the days at Freddie's.

What kind of prep should I do prior to going?
Any tips on how to get the most out of the time?

If you have been to Freddie's school itself, do you have any pointers or thoughts on it?

Thanks for any help or guidance that you can provide this excited kid...

Oh, and the best part!! When I asked my wife if I could go take a three day riding school in Vegas... She said, and I quote, "Happy Birthday!!" Gotta love this woman. Now, she is even checking into going with me. (she has never been to Vegas).

Been there done that.
Freddie is a g-d. Smooth doesn't begin to describe him. Nick and Jeff are some of the best instructors around.
Listen closely, do the drills. Ask questions. Ask for help. Ask to be followed and lead. Watch what the instructors do. Stay relaxed. Get PLENTY of sleep and water. Then drink more water. Don't ride too much over your head. Don't crash on the first day. (you are done)

Most importantly, enjoy.

Do you have your own gear? They had leathers and such but no spine protectors when I did it.

Have fun out there Wink.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Great advice BladeRunner, yes, I have all of my own gear. I have been riding with NESBA the last few track days for the season and that is what got me hooked. (all Kruz's fault!)

I think you have to rent the leathers... so I will take all of my own gear with me, boots, leathers, gloves, helmet, back protector.

Sounds like you have been there. So I should search out Nick and Jeff?

Thanks!!

They do most of the training. Can't miss the boys. Listen to Nick. Follow Jeff.

I've heard only good things about Spencer's school, though I haven't been to it. I'm told that is the only school that teaches trail braking, which sounds like it could be useful/fun.

I don't know if other schools teach it, but he started it. His 100 points of traction is interesting.

Sounds like a good combination of theory and track. Is Freddie Spencer actually involved in the school itself?

Yes, but you will probably only see him for 1/2 the class.
