How does one go about picking out a number?

Anyone?

Also, thinking about how to personalize the Shark Skinz.

I was thinking about painting them pink, having a question on the bike "Why is this bike pink?" With the answer as

Real man ride pink that's why.

You can pick a number and they should tell you if it's used or not.

Yeah... try 666 and then go ride in the South!!

Seriously, different groups have different rules related to numbers. Suffice it to say, if you ride track days, pick a number, and it will be fine. If you race, you need a clear (available) number within your class.

I picked 19, cause I hadn't seen anyone around here with that number. Lo and behold, I go down to RoadAtlanta, and there were three of us on the track at the same time with the same number.

I chose 425 because it's my anniversary. NOW I'll never forget my anniversary.

Pick a number that's meaningful for you - your trackday org will be able to tell you if it is available or not. Ditto if you're planning on racing (and they will tell you further what size/type of numbers you may use - as well as specify what color background, too).

oh yeah, definitely pick a number of some kind of significance to you. I picked 372, relates to one of my best moments on a motorcycle.

616 is my date of birth.

I wanted 69, bur it was taken already. Reason I wanted it cause if I landed on my head and the bike was upside down, I could tell it was my bike.

I picked 561 simply because it's the first 3 digits of my phone number--which is admittedly a pretty doofy way to pick a bike number, but I think I panicked or something, I don't remember.
