It looks like a lot, but when it comes to this area, there is..

one BHF weekend a month, one day in June at RA, one weekend at Putnam followed by one weekend at RA in October. All the other days are pretty far away.

I think I'll do the weekday in June for RA to check it out. I KNOW I won't have drill that day and no annual training in June. I checked my drill schedule and I'm out for the June and July track days because of drill. I'll probably explore STT during those months.

That's a pretty crappy midwest schedule....BHF and more BHF. Great as long as the resurfacing is nice.

Did I miss Gingerman and Gateway? Hopefully they are still adding. Only one Putnam still and so late in the year....? How many years are we going to luck out on good weather.

RA is fun to do once, but shit that track is just too dam fast and dangerous...call me a pus, but the risk/reward isn't there for me at RA.

I talked to Bob today. He said he's still working on adding dates. Probably no more Putnams, but he did mention Gingerman.

Well, I would think he would get MAM. I like that track a lot! And the turn out was pretty good.

April? Bummer, looks like I'll be at VIR around that time.

Why no Gratton???

I thought I heard someone mention that it's too dangerous for beginners. IMO, it's so intmidating, that it makes it safe. Everyone is afraid to go fast becasue it takes so much commitment.

In 3 track days there last year, I only saw 4 crashes total day and one of those was a seized engine on a 2-stroke (normal occurance ), and the other was Marks (VTR996) dumb ass in the rain. And all that with no control riders or even organized groups. A total free for all... my favorite.

I say bring it on. It's still my favorite track.

The only time I;ve seen Ken scared is at that track.

RA in October..... yikes Better hope for an Indian summer.

What is this Barber MSP in Alabama.

I might hit up Carolina MSP in November. It would make a nice late Fall vacation. ALthough I might have to drain the coolant driving there and back.

You called this year good weather. Wet in the morning day 1. then average temps in the high 40's to low 50's. I guess it could have been worse.

Nesba at Grattan doesn't make much sence. Nesba rates are WAY higher than typical Grattan trackdays and most all of the Nesba control riders are CCS racers with no intrest in practice time @ Grattan. Its also quite a haul for the CR's who live in Iowa (Druckers/Garth). If I were a Nesba control rider I would push for lots of BHF and very little of the non-CCS tracks (Putnam/Grattan).

I'm with you....No groups, no sessions, just ride till ya run outa gas, then pit-in and ride some more!!!!

Did I mention..... GRATTAN RULES!!!!!

PS- I still laugh about doing the "track drive" on Phozed's day.... I think once we hit turn3 half the people in the truck were like "I don't know about this....."

I'm with you guys on Grattan! I'm really looking forward to going back there this year. Small group and lots of time to ride!

Unfortunately it might have been me that said that track might be intimidating for a beginner.

As for Putnam, it sounds like they just don't want to give any other dates to NESBA. Sucks, but that's the way it is. They're probably busy enough with WERA and the other orgs that are local.

Jim, what's the date in May. Looks like so far I have two CCS weekends, May 10 and May 31.

I'll keep you posted on any dates I hear of. I think I'm on a couple e-mail lists from some MI locals that rent that track out 5 or 6 times/year because it's so cheap. Although maybe less this year since the MGP series is dead.

I'd like to do a CLSB day like Phozed did last year, but maybe open it up a bit and invite more Chicago people. It's was only about half & half last time. May might be a good time.

Cool, I really want to work on my riding this summer. That means taking time just to work on things and suspensions settings. No other worries, just me and the bike and unlimited riding time.

Jim, is May a NESBA date? CCS is racing Blackhawk six times this season, I don't have to make every one. Besides, I might have help covering some events.

OK, OK... I see, May 10-11. Hmmm, I've got VIR two weeks before. That might be too much traveling for me.

I think most of the MGP racers will be running WERA next season so its very likely for the "private double secret trackdays " to continue on.

Also you might consider getting your WERA license if only to run the cheapo-friday practices at Grattan. One of my MAIN plans for next years practice/trackdays is to work on doing some 10lap sprints(mock-race) and work on suspension setup.

If we rent Grattan privately I'd love to do some race start practice too. Just do about 45min of just starts.

Hell, we could run a little mock race weekend (non-competitive). Morning sessions are warm-up/qualifying. Practice griding and starts just after lunch for 30 minutes, then run solo 10 lap sprint races. Take a 15-20 minute rest between each one.

Just a thought.

It definitely wasn't on the way to BHF when I tried like hell to stay in your draft.

My new car. 90mph no problem with the trailer.
