HighSide by K3 "Chris Onwiler"

I really enjoyed reading this book, I've actually read several parts a number of times because I liked it so much. Thanks alot K3, and keep the good stuff coming. This book had me laughing out loud several times, and almost shaking with nervousness like I was their in other parts. I can relate as a racer and track day junky so much to this book. I have never read a novel so fast in my life, I just couldn't put it down.

So my question is, what was/is your favorate line in the book? When I say line I mean favorite Paragraph, or series of sentences, Let's hear it!

Here's one of my favorites, this one had me laughing outloud:

"A single cylinder Rotax engine is the least melodious-sounding mechanical device ever created by man. In stock trim it sounds like your Briggs & Stratton Lawnmower on crack. Now remove the muffler, richen the fuel mixture just enough for some really ear shattering backfires, and put some moron who doesn't know that you shouldn't rev the ballz off an ice cold engine in charge of the throttle. This was my Sunday morning wake up call. I lay there sure that I was on the verge of death, and prayed for the infernal racket to stop. God must have heard me because the ham-fisted idiot who was revving the motor gave the throttle way too hard a twist with the RPM's way too low, resulting in one last mighty backfire before the sparkplug became irrevocably fouled, silencing the beast."

Now I don't care who you are, that's funny! LOL!!!

So who ever has read the book, post up some of your favorite parts. I think one of the most intense parts of the book is when he is drag racing on the southside.

Rick Rick Rick! My Friend Rick! We need to help our friend K3 sell more books. At $21.95 everyone should buy one if they want to read it. Lending a book to a friend (while it is a friendly thing to do) doesn't help Chris sell books.

I am not one for book reading, but figured I would buy one at the last track since he helped me so much with my riding this year. 2 days and I was done. Excellent book. Cant wait for the sequal!!

Any book that begins with a turn by turn hot lap at BHF has my attention. Chris' writing, and sense of humor took care of the rest.

Excellent read - and again congrats to our own KBOlsen, Jack (Sliderphoto) and SuperDave among others that were recognized by name.

I'm having a hard time understanding why more people aren't interested in this book. It's written about the local Chicago Road Racing and street scene. How come not more interest?
