SPOILER: SBK Round2 @ Phillips Island

How about those races. Barros is going to be the man to watch this years. Corser highsides in second race and hit right behind the head. Great racing today on speed

Crazy first race. Barros is starting to get into his groove. Man that crash was hard to watch.

For anyone that missed round 2, it will be on again on Tuesday, I think 2 or 3pm.

What's up with the green honda? I turned it on halfway through and nearly shit my pants thinking a kawi was up front.

After further review, I couldn't positvely tell if it was the middle finger or the index. It does look like the middle finger though. Speed channel needs to get on the HDTV wagon.

I doubt it was the bird - Those two have raced each other for yrs and TB is a bit to classy for such gesture, just my .02 on the subject

Not to mention that I took a 2nd look and that is not TB in the pic - It is Haga

Yes, the picture feed sucked, but none the less great racing.

Haga was asking if he finished in first place thats all.

You are absolutely correct. I am paying too much attention to the finger and nothing else, especially the word YAMAHA on Haga's suit.

Barros is running Brazilian national flag colors (green/yellow) temporarily on his Honda until sponsorship deal kicks in later. He has done this before a few seasons ago on a few races on his RC211V Honda in MotoGP, so there is precedent for it.

So what the heck happened to Bayliss in Race 1? Glad to see him get his first win.

Barros is definitely the guy to watch. His bike is not even full spec yet and already 6/6 and 2 podiums..

Yup...but I think it was something more as well. His bike is pretty new to him, so he's probably still working out the suspension. He built up a HUGE gap but it came at the expense of his tires. Notice how his strategy changed between race1 and 2. In two, he held back until 1st place started to slide a lot, then made his move and checked out. But his tires must have been completely shot to have to drop the 4-5 seconds per lap that he needed to just to keep it upright. Even then, a few of those slides weren't pretty.

Had to be more then tyres (IMHO). Tyre wear is a gradual thing and laptimes drop towards the end of the race (unless you're Rossi). Bayliss lost his 5 second lead in a lap and a half.

his suspension may have been setup wrong, his tires were cooked. you can easily lose 5 seconds if you can't get any traction!!

take into account that Bayliss has ZERO experience with Pirelli tires prior to this season. I suppose he over abused them getting away and just had nothing at the end. Notice that he did choose the hardest compound tire for Race 2 and it still went off a few laps to go. When he figures out the tires.. I think everyone in WSBK is in a world of hurt.

I don't think so. Bostrom rode for Rennegade Koji after Haga left them to go back to Yamaha. Barros rides for Klaffi Honda(German Team?) whereas Rennegade was a British team.
