lmao... this is why i love Rossi. He always has a "put up or shut up attitude" and he has fun with it... Looks like he has already found his Biaggi of the F1 world. Can't wait till he drives... I'm expecting a horrible first season, but damn it would be cool if he walked out and started cleaning house...

It's not the fall that hurts... it's the sudden stop at the end...

First year, he'll suck wind. 2nd year, he'll start kicking a**. 3rd year, he'll win the championship and the crowds will be shouting "Rossi, Rossi, Rossi".

Yup, already sounds like he's getting to them...and my money's on Rossi...IMO, much easier to go from racing motorcycles to cars than vice versa...in largest part due to the active role a rider plays in the actual performance of the vehicles suspension and handling.

Rossi is out of his element a little to start going after Alonso. Alonso is the next Michael Schumacher in F1. Last years F1 champion, race winner a week ago and 2nd place finish this past weekend & this kid is 24.

My bet is Alonso would win F1, Rossi wins MotoGP & the next form of racing will be also on 4 wheels then Rossi will lose. Alonso has been racing on 4 wheels since he has been 4 years old. Alonso ain't no Biaggi. Alonso can back up what he says.

depends on the team, Raikkonen is already supposed to go to Ferrari next year when Schumi leaves. It really depends if a 'good' team has a spot open---not only that but running on an open track is alot different than race conditions so some teams will probably want to see what he can do in those conditions.

I love shit talk! Rossi is good at it, and he puts on a good show, thats why the fans love him. He's cocky as hell but he backs it up.

Good competition usually comes from some sort of interigation or shit talking. It's racing. Having some kind of grudge, even if you have to make up the grudge yourself makes you want to race against and beat that person that much more.

Racing against a friend some times isn't enough, it is fun, but someone racing against an enemy is that much better racing.

Alonso is a racer, and damn good one. Rossi knows if he can light a fire under his ass or interigate him, the fans will like it more and the racing will be that much better.

I could see Alonso actually beating Rossi in some head to head camparo's and Rossi accepting defeat graciously. What I think its about more then anything is Alonso making an absurd comment about what he thinks he could do on a bike. It comes down to who thru the first stone.

Alonso will kill himself on a MotoGP bike during practice, or if he survives the best he'll do is 25 seconds slower than Rossi no matter how much he practices.

Recall that Schumacher was 19 seconds off of the Velencia Pole time last year when he tested the Marlboro Ducati...

http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/sho...ght=schumacher

I read that a lot of Rossi's F1 fortune lies with Schumi. Marlboro has dictated to Ferrari that they wish to support only one newcomer to Ferrari in 2007. If Schumacher retires, he will be replace likely by Kimi, thereby filling the "new guy" slot leaving no room for Rossi. This largely makes sense, given that sponsor's history of conservatism.

More talk of Rossi going int F1 at...
http://www.crash.net/news_View.asp?t...=126868&news=y

"Alonso, meanwhile, turned down Rossi's challenge, claiming that he wanted to remain focused on his F1 title defence."

And keep in mind that after a first lap spin out, Rossi was only one second slower than Schumacher!!
