I accidentally stumbled across the results. Oh well, I figured I would post it before some dummy posts the winner in the title.

WOO HOO!!! Go Nicky!! I was hoping Shinya would podium, but I'm shocked Vale was so far down. Was the vibration on the bike messing him and Colin up?

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I saw results at 7:00am but have been keeping quiet. Rossi was off track in turn 1 but remounted to finish. Sete was punted off track I believe by Hayden. Even though it's being Tivoed I couldn't resist checking the results since I work until 6:00pm.

Sete's Ducati has an electronics failure and he retired quite early.

Nikano and Elias crowded into Rossi and knocked him down on the first lap.

Pedrosa was flying and Hayden barely held onto the podium as Elais touched the grass on the last lap and fell back into 4th.

Not a good start for Yamaha though, but Repsol is going to tough this year.

Just watched the race on the DVR...SOB kept freezing up on me too...good, it sounds like a broadcast problem and not one with my DVR.

Rossi had a kick ass start from the third row too...absolutely f'ing jaw dropping to see him go down...it took the commentators a moment to verify it was him, but i instantly knew who it was...tons of credit to Rossi though, he could have packed it in but kept on chuggin' and picked up two points...judging by Edwards poor performance and Capirossi's speed, it looks like it would have been tough for Rossi...still sucks though.

Good race from Hayden, very impressed with Pedrosa...dissapointments, Rossi (obviously), Gibernau, Nakano (finished 7th from front row)...very good showing by Kenny Roberts, Jr. IMO to finish 8th on what is essentially a brand new machine.

Damn shame about Rossi and Gibernau. Pedrosa! Wow! Had no idea. Nakano wish he had done better. Once Capirossi took off from the start, I knew it was all she wrote. The only person who had a good chance to catch him was Rossi although Pedrosa put up one hell of a fight. Can't wait to see what happens in race 2!

I thought Elias clipped his front end, the wreck took Edwards to the back of the pack as well...not a good start for Yamaha

I was reading some of the post race interviews. sounds like Elias was very apologetic. Rossi had a good attitude about it too "that's racing"
Rossi told Elias to next time either use his brakes or aim for a different bike.

That's why Rossi is so likeable...he's good, well, great...but doesn't have an outward attitude exhibiting that...he's really is just having a good time, maybe not today ...but he just gets it, racing that is...i don't root for him cuz he always wins!!...but i sure do like the guy.

Good Race....just finished watching it online after work
Amazing stuff by Pedrosa....he gave Capirossi a run for his money.
I am a die hard Rossi fan and it was dissapointing to see him crash in the first bend but as usual he put on a show and pushed on with a broken brake lever to score some points in the end
Elias was very apologetic to Rossi, but I believe it was Nakano who caused elias to run wide and cause the crash.

I'm still pissed about that, I saw maybe 5 laps that weren't interrupted by glitches. If I knew it was going to be like that, I would have worked on my bike and went riding.

It was a good race and I was hoping Rossi was going to pull a superman and come back to finish in a decent position. I wasn't to impressed with Nicky he couldn't keep pace with the front runners and barley finished on the podium he got lucky on the last corner. It would have been a usual mid pack finish if Rossi a Sete finished the race. He better start stepping up to the plate.

Yea Hayden held up Pedrosa. I think if Pedrosa would of passed Hayden earlier Capirossi would of had more problems then he did staying away from Ped. Hell Pedrosa gave up and took 2nd place as it was but Capirossi thought he pulled him at the end.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

I was actually pretty happy with Nicky's finish. All week he was running 8th or 9th fastest in the practice sessions. He just did not have the pace all week, so to come in third a pretty good start to the season.

+1...he really struggled with the setup two weeks ago at testing at Jerez...he ran a solid podium race...i think he's podiumed in something like six straight races now

Must be tough for Hayden to have to deal with the shadow of his rookie team mate already.. Pedrosa is definitely something special and will probably match Rossi's achievements in time, but he's just so boring and has zero charisma. Hard to root for a guy like that. Also, the fact that he abandoned Telefonica Moviestar to join Repsol is beyond shitty.

For those who don't follow Motogp soap opera: Telefonica Moviestar is a spanish co that has a league to discover talent.. So they found Pedrosa who was dirt poor and not particularly that good, but they saw potencial and took him under their wing through the spanish 125 championship and 125 world championship. When it came time to move to up, they actually created a team just for him in the 250s.. The goal was to have a spanish star in their sponsored Gresini team (you know, spanish co, spanish rider).. SO when it came time to move up to GPs, he signed up with Honda and Repsol. As a result, Telefonica Moviestar withdrew from MotoGP altogether..
