Spies definitely looked strong.

In other news, I'm sure Tommy Hayden was thrilled with Aaron Yates' move in race 2.

Spies had the speed last year but seemingly not the confidence...this year looks to be different...he seems to be putting pressure on Mat!!

Damn Mladin and his freaking luck...of course, you make your own luck as they say...Not a big Yates fan since the Daytona drop kick , but it looked like he had established the line on the inside...that was some of the best AMA racing i've seen in a while over the last few laps for 2-5th positions.

Tough weekend for Roger Lee.

Hayden Suffered Broken Tibia & Fibula
by dean adams
Monday, April 24, 2006

Roger Lee Hayden suffered a broken tibia and fibula of his right leg in yesterday's crash in the Barber Superbike race. The Kawasaki rider is due to leave today to see Dr. Art Ting at his northern California clinic where a further determination of his condition will be made and if anything can be done to speed up the healing. It's fairly normal for riders who suffer a combination broken tibia and fibula to have a rod inserted in the bone, or an external fixator outside the leg to stabilize it and promote healing.

While no news of a broken leg can be viewed as particularly good news, a broken "tib-fib" as the injury is known, is usually much easier to come back from than a compound broken femur (DuHamel) or a smashed ankle or heel (Lawson).

Saw that today as well...very sad for Rog...i heard he likely won't be running Superbike and will instead focus on supersport when healthy enough...3 crash outs in three races on the superbike level...it hasn't been good for the guy...but he's a stud, he'll be back

New? You mean the same bike they had last year?

Regardless, I'll take Spies over Hodgson on equal equipment any day of the week.

Neil seems to be a nice enough guy, but his WSB championships were in a time when Xaus was the next best rider...nuff said!
