Question about tire wear and heat cycles

Since the weather was crappy I decided to have my new Dunlop Qualifiers mounted. I'm scheduled for my first trackday of the season on June 3rd. I usually take turns at a spirited pace on the street but not quite as hard as on the track. My question is whether street riding puts enough heat in your tires to be worried about too many heat cycles and wear before a trackday. I know nothing about this so just looking for opinions or suggestions to clear it up. Thanks.

I'm guessing no. I can't say for sure, but I really doubt that riding on the street gets a tire carcass even close to track temps.

Hopefully Nick or Steve or another more knowledgeable member will post.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Your tires will be fine, give them 2 laps to heat up and don't ride over your head. You'll be fine.

The qualifier is a street/track tire, so heat cycles shouldnt effect them much. If you ride on the street with them, you will be replacing the tire more than likely because you have squared them off and they just wont handle well.

So dont worry about the heat cycles. Just get the air pressure right and give them 2 laps to warm up.

Good to go.

Thanks. That's kinda what I figured. Just wondering if it was anything to be concerned about.
