Can't add much because a full tank and an extra 5 gallons will be sufficient.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I have slightly different parameters riding a 250.
My take is to bring two 5 gal cans instead, because 1 gallon of gasoline equals 5.8 to 6.5 lbs. That's 30 lbs of weight up high on the bike.
I mix up 1 gallon of premix every couple of sessions and run as light as I can.

+1
I normally fill the tank and bring 10 gal, for the weekend. Then again, I'm paranoid about running out. The day i got my bump to 'I' w/ NESBA, I ran out before I could run one session in that group, which scarred me for life.
Its better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

For just 1 day,5 gal should be plenty.

Bring as much ass as you can fit in the trailer.

+1 5 gallons will be plenty. I usually end up dumping the leftovers into the truck for the ride home.

For one day, most people bring full tank and 1 5gal can.
For two days, most people bring full tank and 2 5gal cans.

Longer tracks like Road America require more fuel. 1000s require more fuel than 600s, etc...

Hmmm that's a good idea... 2 five gal tanks and only run a little bit of gas at a time to save 25lb... hell, that'll almost make up for the Häagen-Dazs that I should have kept my hands out of!
