On-board camera's

What is the policy usually about doing on board camera's at various tracks?

It it up to the track or the group puttung on the event?

This year i want to get some on board footage. I probably would get the same mount Anna got from LP. But this seems to me to be a hazard in a crash. I would love to get the lipstick camera that Jim got/is getting/wants to get. but that's a little too much right now since i just spend over $700 for the new camera.

Let's discuss this

Jim did get it. Its the best route. NESBA has in the past let me take out mine mounted to the fairing stay. Crappy mount IMO too much vibration. I Picked up a tank mount via LBK and ned to test it out.

i spent the cash to do it where i would be the least likely to get injured by it if i were to crash. i would save the cash and get the lip stick camera.

The lipstick cams seem like the smartest solution... wouldn't want to mangle that $700 camera in a crash. Jims should be fairly well protected under his tail section.

Usually its up to the organizers to determine if the camera mount is acceptable. Most Orgs. just want to see it solidly mounted and tethered to the bike somehow.

I too am looking for a camera for my bike. I came across this site that has many different kinds of cameras, including the lipstick cam.

Check it out. www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm

Hey Jim, does yours have a separate mic? Can you give "color commentary" while riding?

yes, but it has to be video in!!!!! you can plug rca's into any camera for video out but you must be able to tape from an outside source onto the camcorder (like a vcr does)

most sony's are and my cannon is.
