From CJ @ Road Racer X:

For me, about the strongest indicator that Nicky might in fact be with Ducati next year is the rumored possibility of the company pulling out of AMA Superbike next season. What would Parts Unlimited Ducatiís Superbike effort have to do with Marlboro Ducati hiring Nicky to race MotoGP next season? Not much, admittedly, but it would sure be a way to keep the all-important American market interested in their overall racing efforts. Am I stretching things a bit? Probably, but thatís what Silly Season is all about.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

He may actually be happy about that. He says he loves the US, but he doesn't really like the tracks here much and I think he is tipped to be back in WSBK racing for Foggy on a Duc. Unless Foggy gets a Duc GP team - rumoured to employee Max Biaggi btw. Could you imagine two bigger egos in the same garage?

Silly Season time is upon us early this year

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

Have to correct myself. Just read an interview with Neil. He was asked if he would ride for Foggy and he said NO. "He retired and then when I started doing well, he started slagging me, which I found very offensive. So - no."

His main problem seems to be his inability to adapt to the AMA schedule. He's saying its not an excuse, but its hard for him to get into a rythm with the short practice sessions.

"I have to get into a rythm. I wish I wasn't like that. I think the years of doing it like I've been doing it, I can't change. I'm trying to change. I was really aware of it this winter and I thought I've got to change for this season. I've got to be on it straight away. But I can't do it. I set off and I think I'm on it and I'm three seconds too slow. It's not a lame excuse or anything like that, its just the truth about how I feel about it. I find it difficult."

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.
