CCS @ Autobahn.. Sept 8 - 9 - 10...

Anyone going to spectate - ride - help in the pits, etc?? Also, anyone going to partake in their sport track day on the 8th (south course $150.00)???

I'm planning on doing the LCR class on Friday and trying to race that weekend. I've been wanting to start racing all season, and stuff kept coming up so I never got to do it.

Rob did you already email LCR to reserve you a spot? Looks like we'll be taking the class together. I haven't rode the south course since june of last year

I've never been there, but I'm probably going to try racing there that weekend. I not pre-registered yet though. The practice would be nice on Friday, but it's almost twice the cost of practice at most tracks...

Remember boys and girls.. it's an ASRA/CCS weekend. If you're not there by Thursday night.. you'll be pitting by the concession stand. Also, if you're not pre-registered, you're guaranteed to start from the last row.

and you'll be wasting extra money on races... I didn't realize how much extra it costs until I didn't pre-register for my races for July's BHF. Instead of 70-50-35-35, it was 75-50-50-50.

There's two more days yet, so I'll know soon whether or not I'm going.

Not looking forward to the passes that may or may not happen on the last corner in the South course... that corner looks dangerous!

Damn, shouldn't have mentioned that, now Rev Rice is going to go stuffing me there in practice just to freak me out... or hell, maybe even in the race if I manage to get myself lapped

I am thinking about going to spectate. Looking for someone(s) to ride down there with.

I think that will be my bro's return to the ring after breaking his arm at BHF.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

There is NO LCR day on august 8th. I just emailed LCR and they said that is a typo on the behalf of CCS. It'd be nice if they let everyone know

last year it was pretty bad. There was no practice day on friday instead we had races so by the time I pulled up at midnight on thursday, the only place to set up was by the concessions. Just remember that it'll be all the regular CCS Midwest racers plus all the ASRA national racers.

There are no schools at National (ASRA) events.

Also note there is a NASCAR event in Joliet that same weekend - hotels are at a premium (Holiday Inn Express in Morris is $94 a night - and that's half an hour away).

Practice is on Friday.

I'll be getting there sometime Thursday night (hoping to score a ride with a member of the Iowa contingent).

Can anybody who has been to A-bahn this year tell me if they've constructed a crow's nest for the South course, or will we be working from a table on the ground again?

As of 8/12 it was still under construction.

Kim,
Is there camping at Autobahn or do I need to find some lodging for the weekend?
TIA

From what I understand camping is available for $30 for the weekend. I have also heard that there are now showers available.

Crossin' my fingers on that crow's nest...
