First impressions of the SV

Well I did my first trackday on the SV yesterday at autobahn North. The morning sessions sucked while I tried to figure out shift points and setup the suspension. Shortly after lunch though I was having a great time... ending up running a new personal best there 1:11:42 with a bunch of other 1:11's. I was having a blast with how much corner speed this thing can carry.

I'm signed up for the LCR day at BHF on the 23rd, as soon as they get back to me and confirm it I'll preregister for the 24th.

Edit: The SV ran GREAT. Nick- bodywork fit up excellent too I had it mounted in about 45 min including fashioning brackets!

I was on a stock SV today at the north course and was clicking off 39's I love the FI SV's. When I say stock I mean stock. The front touring tire ont he front was toast Can't wait till tommorrow for the full course. This was the first time on the N course and the first time in a year I have been a crotch rocket. Man I miss it. Wish I came out on Saturday.

lol ya know I really don't even know. The back is a 45, not sure of what's up front. I don't even know what stock is.... I'm going to pick up a 520 conversion for it over winter.

Stock suspension had to be scary lol... mine was set wayyyy to soft at the beginning of the day, put zip ties on the forks and I was bottoming out. Almost lost the front once because of it. Tightened the front up almost as tight as it would go and it was perfect about 1/2" from bottoming now. You were on the south course today, I don't want anyone to think you were running 1:39's on the north lol. We gotta get together again soon. I think you should pick up another SV over winter.

Thanks guys I'm sad the season is coming to an end I've been having to much fun. Pray for global warming! lol. Hopefully with some minor tweaking I will be able to get down into the 10s in spring. I love autobahn north but I know a few places were I can make up some time.

I was impressed, you got up to speed really quickly. Too bad we didn't get much of a chance to mix it up out there.

Good to hear about the bodywork mounting up easily. Glad I could help. The fairing bracket was the key. Make sure and thank Scaffer and Luporini too. See you at Blackhawk Wegman Weekend. We'll dice it up.
