Yamaha M1 laps Sepang on Michelin Street Tires

Early this year Colin Edwards did some testing for Michelin at Sepang. For a promotion, they put Pilot Power 2CT street tires on his M1. He was only about 8-10 seconds slower per lap then on race tires.

I read about this when it happened, but never found any video.

Thanks to YouTube, here is the video:

I hear ya, but I would say 8-10 seconds is pretty fricken' good for a 5,000 mile street tire compared to a full on race slick that is so sticky it barely lasts 70-80 miles.

And I am sure he was being very careful not to crash and could have gone faster. Despite the abuse he gave it, it was reported that it was not in too bad of shape at the end. Although, I think he only did a handful of laps.

He really lit that baby up, huh?
