RS 125 Parts?

Yo, 2-smoke gurus!

Got any suggestions on where I might find OEM engine parts for a pre-'95 RS 125 around Chicago?

Why? Do did you buy a new toy?

I know a guy with a house and garage full of RS125 and 250 parts in Chicago.

I know Accu Pruducts has a bunch of parts in stock, they carry all kinds of stuff but none of it is on there website so you have to call and ask for Rick.
http://www.accu-products.com/

For OEM parts Thousand oaks honda give 20% off if you provide the part numbers.
http://www.hrcusa.com/
Then GPC and RS Cycles have stuff.

This ones really promising!! Someone posted it on USGPRU.

As I posted on Fatbaq I have a solution to your (our) piston and crank availability problems. Please, continue reading................

I didn't want to use Wiseco or Vertex pistons in my 94' RS 125 so I set out to solve my troubles and killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

First, I pressed an old crank apart and measured all the dimentions. Then I went to my local aftermarket bike shop, I asked to look at their rod kit books. I had them copy the pages with dimentions and part numbers then returned to the garage to compare my rod to what was available.

Not only did I find an exact replacement I found better. After measuring a 95' to present piston I realized Vesrah has a kit that will allow me to use the late model piston with the 15mm wrist pin. The stroke is the same, the big end pin is the same but the rod has a bigger hole. That means the cage is thicker and will last longer.

Now, I just need a good....no, GREAT crank guy to do this rebuild. I called Kenny D. at Maximus, told him of the sheet metal on the counter weights and expected to hear bad news. He was confident he could do it without damaging the sheet metal, so much that it wouldn't cost anything if he screwed it up. What did I have to lose?????

I got the crank back this week.........not a scratch on it and it's dialed right in. 2 1/2 tenths out....thats .00025, HRC hasn't sold me one within 2.5 thou!!! This guy is good....no, he's GREAT!

What does this mean? You can use 95 and up pistons (no more looking for OEM, no more using junk replacements) There is more..... you will now have the same opportunity as the late model bikes. You can use the A-Kit pistons with A-kit porting!!!!!

Kenny is an engineer, he knows his $hit....he said the Vesrah rod was better and stronger than the OEM and agreed that the thicker bearing would do nothing but help in the maintinance dept.

Here is the goods: Vesrah part # VA-5014 (CR 125 90'-03')

Kenny D. @ Maximus: 954-455-3020

The kit includes: Rod, top and bottom bearings, thrust washers and crank pin. All for $90!!!!!

If you have an older bike/engine do the same, split the crank and take measurements. Go to your local bike shop and ask for Vesrah rod kit info. All the dimentions are there, you just need to find the right one. I have never seen a 250 crank but if anyone can help you it's Kenny. The rods are out there.......the updates are yours for the taking!

You will see this run at Beaverun, on my kart...... You can't miss me, I'll be the orange Maxxis laydown F-125 with the big #1 on it!!!!!!

Does Phozed boy still have his? Aside from a crappy black box. there lots of good parts on that. I forgot what year it is.

I'm doing some 'hunting' for a friend. Although the more I learn about 'em, the more I'm wondering if a certain fat old lady racer might actually want one of her own!
