Power Race vs Pilot Powers for track

So far I've run only on Pilot Powers except for a front takeoff that I used from Mikdivad. How notable is the performance change from the Pilots? I think I'd go with the medium compound front and rear. I was considering a soft front but have seen those torn through pretty quickly. Also, anyone know the warm up times from one or the other? The pilots aren't bad at all, just looking to experiment a bit.
