Gingerman 9/30 - 10/1

Is anyone attending the Sportbike Track Time event at Gingerman. I am looking into attending but will need transportation for the bike. If you have space, please let me know. I am happy to pay for the help.

Thanks and ride safe,
Brian

That track sucks. Not worth the time or effort unless you like a real challenge NOT crashing... go to Putnam 10/14-15, far better SAFER track without dealing with all the nasty grooves everywhere at Gingerman. JMHO. I won't ever go back there unless they pave it.

I will be out there with about 20 of my friends. We love that track and it is one of of local favorites. Look for the KTM motard #143. We will be pitted at turn1

Steve, are you serious? You "love" that track? I gotta admit, I love the layout and the flow, but those friggin cracks are murder.

Yeah it is a track that I can woop up on some bigger bikes. The only down fall is the back straight they pull on me but not as bad as teh Putnam straight. I have to put the grooves out of your mind. It is a mind game the only bad corner it turn 2 it is really slick if you get on the power to soon. Highside city it is my worst corner there.

Yeah turn 2 will bite you quick and hard if you don't have throttle control. I have never crashed there in 2 but I have had some near highsides

HA HA!!! Gingerman kicks ass! Awesome track!

Just run the groves over and stay steady on the throttle.

For the most part I did jsut run the grooves over. I actually did not have a lot of porblems with them once you get used to the little suspension jumps you feel as you go over them. I did a track walk on Saturday night, and actually found some areas like in T10 where there was actually a smooth place to trasition from the outside to the apex. However, we had beginners and intermediates falling right and left.

There was a groove in T2 and one in T3 that had to be a half inch higher than the section next to it. At lean, at full speed I don't think they were to be "ignored". Many of the seams can be ignored, for example the ones in 6-9 can all be completely ignored.

Gotta love that dip in T11 too., Nothing like a nice little suspension compression at the apex of a high speed turn leading to the front straight.

Bumpy as ACC South on the section from T10-T11. BUT... pretty cool how much the front end is in the air on that section and on the front straight.

I'll be there... Where are you coming from? I'm leaving from Ann Arbor around 6 Friday night. I'll help you out if you aren't too much out of the way.

Thank you for the offer; however, I live in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
