Video of the big track

They call it the big track. It's by Streets of Willow in California. I got to bullshiting with a guy that works for Pacific Gas and Electric, I've done a lot of contract work with this guy and starts talking bikes, I'm talking bikes, he does track days and races, I do track days and races and we're both like "NO SHIT HUH!"

This is him at the big track. Pretty fast fucker.

I understand what you're saying. But in a racing situation moving through traffic, there is no such thing as a consistant "Race Line". You do whatever you have to do to get around that next guy. If that means riding off the ideal line then that's what you have to do. Plus that track is WAY wide and there's so much room to pass wherever you want.

I can't wait to go out there. He has a garage full of machines and invited me out to do a track day.

oh i agree, trying to pass someone is trying to pass someone, race lines dont apply.

You need 10 days to do it comfortably. 3 to drive out and 3 to drive back, 2 days to ride and 2 days to site see. Far ass drive man.

That is the big track at Willow Springs International Motorsports Park.....commonly referred to as "Big Willow". The Streets of Willow is the small track in the lower right corner of this pic with the skid pad on the end - it has a 12 degree banked turn that is kinda cool. The Bullring track is the small 1.1 mile track above the Streets track built into the hill - excellent motard track.

http://www.willowspringsraceway.com/...ation/maps.asp

Big Willow has the infamous turn 8/9 combo that are taken at WFO in 5th or 6th gear (150 - 160 mph). Willow is usually called the "fastest road in the west".

The WSMC races there (Big Willow) on the 3rd Sunday of every month - so the locals know the track REALLY well. You have to have some seriously large brass ones to hold the throttle open thru 8/9.....a mistake there looks like the opening scene from the old Six Million Dollar Man show.

Like Daytona, Road America, Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta and Barber it is something you should really try once.
