Free Team Chicago Race School

On Saturday April 5th, Team Chicago will be holding a free race school at Grattan Raceway. The day after (Sunday) will be a $60 open practice trackday (if you completed the school).

Certified completion of this class willl be valid towards WERA and AHRMA licenses. Also, I've been told that if you get your WERA license, then you can get your CCS license also. You might want to look into that a little bit more if I were you though.

This school is for motorcyclists who plan on racing and don't carry a race license. If you do carry a race license, then it will cost you $25.

For more info. and an application, call Team Chicago at (773) 725-2115. Applications are due by March 22nd. Post-Entry fee is $25. Also, Des Plaines Yamaha/Suzuki/Kawasaki (847) 298-3322 is listed as a sponsor. So, they might have some info. on this too.

Is anyone going to this, I tried calling the number and got a busy signal... Has anyone registered? I want to go, sounds like it would be a good thing for a beginner to do if they wanted to get into racing.

Education is always a good thing! Just out of curiosity... does anybody know the cost of a WERA or AHRMA license?

According to WERA's website, a race license is $85. I don't know if that is last year's price or this year's, but it will probably be right around there.

It's cool that you are helping people out, but if you guy's go to the dealer to get the form , that helps out Dan, to show foot traffic at the dealerships, it shows the sponsors that he does reach potential customers. So if it's not a big ordeal, stop at your local Yamaha dealer and get an application there. Dan gives a lot of work to put on the free school, it would be nice to repay him with a small amount of your time. Thanks!

I just talked to Dan and he said he will get to those dealerships in the next couple of days. Here are the shop's that have them now:
MCC
Illinois Harley
Beloit Yamaha
Cycle craft Yamaha

We are sponsored by Yamaha, so by next week all of the Yamaha shop's should have them, and you will have plenty of time to get it to Dan.

All applications had to be received by Mar. 22nd. So, you'll have to pay a $25 fee at the gate in order to participate.

As for the trailer, you might want to check with Jim or John. I only have a one spot.
