Pre Race Jitters

I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I felt the same way yesterday. Usually I get the butterflies really bad rite before a race. They are so bad rite at 3rd call sometimes I feel like I'm either going to yack or crap in my pants. Once I get out on the warm up lap it all goes away and I feel great gridding up for the race. This is all normal for me and it's been like this for almost 5 years now. No big deal I guess.

The problem is I feel like that rite now at work. I felt this way yesterday to. My problem is I can't stop thinking about racing this weekend. It's bad, really bad. I'm a fucking wreck rite now. My palms are all sweaty and the only way to make this go away is to get on the bike. Maybe I'm nervouse because I haven't raced yet this year and it's a big race weekend at RA coming up. Maybe it's because I haven't riden the newly put together SV yet. I don't know, but it's driving me nuts.

So instead of the pre race jitters, I have the pre, pre, pre race jitters rite now. I still have all today, tomorrow, trackday Thursday and race Friday. DAMN IT!

Does anyone get like this or am I a wacko?

I need something man, I need to not think about racing or trackdays rite now. It's terrible. I feel like a drug addict that needs his fix. It's really bad.

At least you have the trackday Thursday. I've been to RA once. Chances are I won't get more than one practice and I get to race two races friday with a new set up on the bike too. I'm a little bit nervous, but I'm sure it'll all pass soon enough. Should be a fun weekend!

I think we all go through that. Completely normal. I'm even scared before I go out for my warm up lap.

Slow, deep breathing? My competitive experience isn't on motorcycles but that's usually a good way to release some stress temporarily.

Last year at Gingerman I had Michilen listed on the contigency form but forgot to list it on the sponsor list that they print below your name on the grid sheet. I won every race and had to fight tooth and nail to get my cash. They did give it to me though.

You can! If you race a couple of classes, you won't spend no more than you would at a trackday. You won't even get a quarter of the track time but you will get to race.

The environment at a competition race day in the paddock is 10 times better than at a track day. Racing kicks ass, track days can get boring.

I lost some Vortex money this year, b/c I thought I listed them on my sponsor sheet with the other 10 sponsors and after looking over the sheet eric faxed, it was an oversight on my part. Had stickers, product and tech form right, just missed listing them when I was sure I had. Thankfully, no issues on tire money with listing them first all the time, just wish they'd pay out faster.
