Seriously, I just always thought that was a bit overkill.

Great race...Spies was tested early and responded by posting lap times just a few tenths above his qualifying time!

Congrats to Benny boy, and I'd say 'hello MotoGP'. Also, this has easily been my favorite year for Mat Mladin...he's been tolerable all year, and was gracious in defeat. I always respected the hell out of the guy as a racer, but like him a lot more as a person after this season

Did you guys see the Supersport race??!! I feared the worst 'ole Hayes, glad to hear he was ok (relatively speaking). Rough weekend for him, that highside in practice looked nasty too.

Congrats to Rog for making it the triple for the Hayden boys...also to Josh Herrin for his first win! ...told y'all that kid was gonna be a winner!

What a great race - Well, the first half at least - After Ben's start, I thought it was all over and Matt was going to race in typical MM fashion - Congrats to him for prooving 52% of America wrong (me inculded) - I would enjoy seeing him go to GP

All the races were great. I wanted Spies to win more then I wanted Matt too. it was good. Hayes that poor guy, he just had bad luck in the last race weekend.
Josh Herrin will be someone to watch next year.

Ah now the test begins for Mr Spies....

He has proven he can ride a Championship quality bike to a championship.

Can he DEVELOP one without help and lead a team to become winners ??

Ahhhh, now THERE'S a great angle

Spies stepped into the longest standing team with one of the best developmental riders in the world. Definately an edge...however, Spies is known for consistent lap times (like Mladin) and therein lies the key to development. Obviously, guys like Mat and Vale are known for their ability to articulate problems and address issues, but consistent lap times are what the engineers really need to do their jobs. Verbal riders help, but the ability to lay down a base line for development is to me the biggest key...

I haven't seen anything reported, and I doubt you will as the next public outing (i think) is the December tire test at Daytona...that was a pretty high speed get-off in the 3-4 roundabout...nothing like Hayes' crash though

Criville was able to ride Doohan's machine to a championship...completely
on his coatails. He didn't do squat after that.

Guys who can at the top AMA / International level?

DuHamel
Mladin
Rossi ( duh )
KR jr
Chandler
Corser
Haga ( close, really close )
Toseland
Bayliss

I am sure there are some that I am missing.....

Soon to be Stoner

Hacking can be a real Bully out there...he really pisses me off sometimes. It looked like he (unintentionally) ran Hayes wide in the corner that dumped him as well.

I'm glad Herrin took his ass back for the win

You are right about Hacking, that dude is fricking dangerous on the track. He has taken out way too many riders trying to pass them on the track. He even said "Rubbing is racing" which truly makes him Rowdy Burns from Days of Thunder I think if Herrin saw him close again he would kick him off the bike Road Rash style .

It was awesome hom Spies used that one slower rider like an NBA pick and never looked back. One of the best wheelies I've seen with his start . He just refused to lose and found a way to win.
