The info below has gone out once, and we had significant requests to move the date out closer to (or in) the riding season. This provides three things for the requestors; time after Christmas to save up longer, better riding weather in Vegas, and you’ll be able to put what you learned into practice RIGHT after you learn it which will hopefully help it sink in better and faster for us. The rest of this email is the same with a few updates related to dates, etc... NEW Date: APRIL 29-30, 2008
I just wanted to offer an awesome training opportunity to you all. Marshall Skloss, Nicole Settles, Yuri Dobrowolsky, Chris Frye, Ron Hix, Tom & Carol Larson, Paul Murphy, Chris Irwin, Danny Kypena, Dave Frick, Dave Lockhart, Tony Cortese, Jim Meigs, Steve Koebernick and myself have all been to the Freddie Spencer High Performance Riding Pro School http://www.fastfreddie.com
together and had an absolute blast. We are returning yet again this year as well and wanted to see if any of you would be interested in going. A great many CLSB members have also been to the school one or multiple times.
2-Day Private School
(We get WAY more done in our 2 day agenda than the normal 3 day Pro School.)
Dates are April 29-30 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Lodging is at the Orleans
Price is currently at $2155, which is a 10% group discount from the normal $2395. (World-Class Instruction, 600RR, Tires, Shuttle to/from track from Orleans, Lunch included)
You need to pay your airfare (cheap this far in advance) and your hotel at the Orleans (ask for the Freddie Spencer discount rate).
This course teaches all sorts of riding drills, braking drills, body position, line analysis, throttle control, blipping, etc... No matter your level, they have tons to offer. For example, last time we were there, Matt Lynn, Rob Jensen, Larry Denning and others were there with us taking the same class. Jason DiSalvo was running drills with us as well. Nicky Hayden had just been there the week before working on braking drills. Factory riders were on the outside course at the same time from Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki testing traction control systems.
Anyhow, it would be great to see any of you who might be interested in coming, join us for some fun training during the off season. We learned so much there last year, that we constantly had things to work on all season, as well as it helped us coach ourselves and those that we ride with, with added knowledge and confidence.
This is NOT a NESBA Event, just something that I put together for my friends in the hopes that we could get more of our riders the experience and training that Freddie's team offers.
We took 16 folks last year. We needed 12 to have this as a PRIVATE event and we had that covered. The school can handle up to 20 riders, the ratio is typically one instructor per 4-5 riders. My private event always gets plenty of time with Freddie Spencer himself. So, we need 12 folks to commit in order to have the event, I’ll update you all as I get your interests back.
So far we have 13:
This event is open to riders of any track riding skills. It is recommended for ALL levels of riders from literally track B-level riders up to the CCS national champions like Marshall Skloss and Dustin Boyd. (Note: We had I and B riders go with us last year with A riders and CRs and it all worked out great for everyone). Nicky Hayden and Jason DiSalvo train there as well.
I realize that this is not a cheap trip, but it is well worth the money. Upgrade YOURSELF before you spend more on your track bike. Hopefully, you have heard about the school, or someone who has been to the school will be happy to tell you more about it.
So, anyone interested?
If you are interested, please quickly drop me an email at brianwink at mac dot com. These are unlisted school dates, as I am in control of the attendee list.
