i was mostly talking about the dates, but to answer your question my focus will be the meat grinder classes. but if i can scrape up some cash for an unlimited race here and there, i might. it certainly would make things interesting.

Why do the one year thing? Or are you independantly wealthy?

If not is there any harm in pacing yourself so you can stick around the series for a few years?

He's got sponsors and will very likely take Mr. Boyd's spot as sandbagger amateur champ.

that's my point though, the trend of the people running every race seems to be one year and then they're gone.

I'll see ya out there. Still unsure whether I'll do the whole schedule. I think I might be able to do OK in MW.

Sorry for the slow response, been tied up this morning.

Why do the one year thing? Not my plan to do only one year.

Independently wealthy? Not even close. Working very hard to secure some good sponsors to help with the cost of the season. It is almost impossible to secure any sponsors if you don't commit to doing a full season.

Pacing myself? THIS IS PACING MYSELF! Do you have any idea how many weekends I did with NESBA last year? and the year before! FAR, FAR more than 10! I know racing is harder and more expensive, but still...this is actually a significant reduction for me.

Also, I am officially banning myself from getting a 600 and trying to do 10 races a weekend. I knew this will keep me from having any shot at the getting the overall, but maybe, just maybe that will help to keep this fun and not allow it to get completely out of hand.

Look forward to see you out there, it is gonna be a great season. I can't wait!

Ron what kind of sponsorship can you get as an amatuer that would defer the cost of racing that much? For me I estimate $600-1000/weekend and that's if I'm really budgeting well. Adding any amount of travel greatly increases the budget. I wish I could get paid to race as an amatuer, but the best I get are a few free tires, my entry fees if I podium, and parts at cost. Good luck to everyone next year!

Variety is the spice of life. It gets boring doing the same track over and over again. Try something new of go to a couple of different regions. I loved racing a VIR and other tracks outside of the region.

You have to go outside the motorcycle industry and/or focus on folks who couldn't care less if your an amateur or expert.

I loved racing all over. But not everyone can take off work alot to travel 1000 miles one way to race nearly every other weekend.

May be doing a race myself next year. Back to 4 wheels.
