Post Jennings GP

Fanastic weekend of riding guys. I couldn't have asked to be with a better group of people. We had a good time celebrating and being on vacation and got some good hard riding in. Jennings is a kick ass track, very fast and challenging. I got down to a 1:27 on the street SV. I'm sure I could go faster with more practice. Seat time seat time seat time.

Steve, thanks for the invite brother. Sorry for almost running you over on the 1st session of the day. That scared the living shit out of me. Rob, good riding with you man, I love that Superduke, I never got a chance to ask you to ride it. All the other people from Floridasportbikes were good folks. Every track day group is the same no matter where you go. We all have the same passion of riding motorcycles.

We were also very lucky to be graced with Mr. Patrick "PJ" Jacobsens presence. Keep your eye on this kid and watch his racing career excelerate onto a Moto-GP ride. He is a very well spoken, respectable 14 year old and an excellent and very fast motorcycle racer.

Check out the link, here is a brief highlight of some of his recent achievements. I was lucky enough to help him push start the little 125. The little squirt was clicking off 1:18s Sunday like it was nothing.

PJ’s accomplishments are lengthy, here is an overview:

29 AMA Flat Track National flat track titles ( Miles, short tracks and TT’s)

2005 AMA Youth Rider of the year

2005 AMA Dirt Track Rider of the year

2006 AMA Road Race 125 GP champion

2006 CAN-AM 125 GP Champion

2006 USGPRU National Champion

I am glad you made it down. The weather was perfect except teh fog inthe morning on Sunday. But how can you beat 80 degrees and sunny!!!!!!!

Yeah the lowside i had was a classic worn out tire deal. The tires i had on where toast and I should have put new ones on. I have never been so close to being ran over in my life. Our eyes where as big as saucers as you rolled past my head and body. I am glad you got up to speed quickly. There is another day coming in March I will post the details in a bit. Sorry I couldn't take you up on the offer when leaving for home on Sunday. Next time I will fly down. Its was a last second decision to come down as I did not know what was going on.

basically i pay the extra gas money for the treck down to Jennings to do trackdays with my best friends Luis, Tom and Pete. it is money well spent and as you and the other 10 -14 chicago guys learned it is one big family. To bad we could not get something like that up here with this board. Glad you came out!!!!!!

Here is the info. My buddy Pete is running the 2 days but is is basically the same thing as last weekend but there is only 2 groups not 3 so more riding time for the money!!!!!!!!!!!

X-ACT Motorsports annual Bike Week Track days!

I'm doing my annual event at Jennings GP at the end of bike week. I've done this event for the last 3 + years. March 8th & 9th are a Saturday & Sunday.

Cost will be $265.00 for both days or $132.50 for one day. Maximum riders will be 50.

Unless I have quite a few newbies, I'll stick to my usual 2 groups, "not so fast" and "fast".

X-ACT Motorsports it very happy to announce the first annual Road Atlanta track event!

May 12 & 13 (Mon/Tue), 2008 will be the dates! 3 groups, max. riders 35 per group, lunch will be included for paid riders. Cost will be $380.00 for both days or $200.00 for one.

I plan on having a full support staff of control riders and instruction for the novices. A professional suspension tuner will be there "thermosman" is going to be the guy there

Also Stickboy from the Wera board with be the Bridgestone tire service guy for the event

Awesome time, Gents! I had a great time riding and rubbing elbows at speed with y'all.
Grasshopper, there'll be another chance to get some seat time on the Duke Brotha! It'll be out again, it's too much fun to pass you on the outside with it. (FTR 'hoppa was a tick faster than me this weekend. I blame the tire ) That tire was abso-frickin-lutely thrashed, so you didn't miss too much, except sliding it 6" out at WOT in 5th in T2 every lap. Nothing like the thought of a 100+mph highside to keep ya smooth, ehh?

Thanks again for the invite Steve, great times and well worth the drive. The FSB crew is a good bunch. I can't wait 'til March and then RA in May. Those are gonna be awesome.

I'm in back, Black954 in front

I'd be draggin elbow, but the sliPirellis wouldn't have it.

Grasshopper rocking the Franken-SV. That hillbilly mofo is FAST.

Black954 is a moto-MacGuyver. True Story. Not only did he manage a really well done bodywork repair with zip-ties, but also fabbed trackside a new windscreen and a motard-pipe silencer out of random hardware store bits.

Here was the fastest man of the weekend, beat everyone in the Mock Race, including the first runner-up, G2G.

Whoops, Thought that I put something there. Fixed now!

I don't think that guy is in the grass, it looks like he's just back by T10. The pic looks like its around 12.

Nice pics rob. I had a great time, though i'm still sore everywhere. I'm getting pretty good at 80+ mph crashes and the GSXR is a fucking tank. I've seen it tumble 4-5 times on two different occasions and I still rode it afterwards. Rob, you sir are fast on that Katoom, Grasshopper it was nice meeting you and shit you are fast on a not so fast bike, Steve you're my 2nd place hero, and John you are the man, it's just too bad i'm the only one who knows that. I just might have to go back in March, atleast for the sushi!

Rocking, I've got quite a few pics I'll post up tonight.

bike condition.......bruised and battered, but still rideable. I had to crash sometime right? haha Was a good time either way, but I guarantee that i will be using a rear tire other than the PR4. It was close to toast early in the 2nd day. Oh well. Good time either way!

The PR4 doesn't like temps below 80 or so. The PR5 is a much better choice for trackdays. Lasts a long time and grips nearly as well as the PR3 or PR4 in their respective temperature ranges.
