Don't ride over your head and you'll be fine. A lot of those crashes were because of throttle greediness. Respect the bike, don't whomp on the gas while leaned over. There's a saying: to go fast, you need a slow right hand. being smooooooottttthhhhh at the controls will keep you shiny side up.

and if you do, crashing ain't so bad. I've yet to hurt myself badly doing a roadrace trackday, (racing is another story) and I've crashed more than my fair share. The worst part is all the shit everyone gives you afterward.
