Just some FYI

Its come up alot this week Hydration. Just thought I would share an article out of Road Racing World Mag.
Most of us dont realize how much water we are now. The brain is 76%,Lungs 90%,Blood 82% water. Lose just 2% of bodyweight in water weight and you can drop performance by a whopping 30%.
(Knowing when and how much to drink)
It depends on several thinngs. How big are you, outside temps, how long you will be riding. In general waiting until you are thirsty is to late. Start early.
** Try drinking one cup 8oz every 15 mins starting 2 hrs before you ride.
**With 30 mins to go drink 2 cups.
**Sip but go easy to prevent the sloshy feeling in your stomach and allows time for the bladder to M/T.
**Once you start riding take reg fluid breaks.
WHAT TO DRINK--You cant go wrong with water.Cold water 40-50 degrees fahrenheit is absorbed more quickly the room temp water and helps bring down core temps.
SPORT DRINKS--Good idea because they can provide carbs and nutrients that help fuel the body. Be careful though some commercial sport drinks like soft drinks have to much sugar that can greatly decrease your body absorption. If in doubt read the label.
Try these things and you will be amazed at the difference in energy and recovery.

Hydration is key for any sport, especially where concentration is paramount such as racing. If your piss is not clear you need to drink more water. It will make a huge difference in your performance.
