2013 Rider Team Speculation

Starting this much earlier than usual given this weekends events and announcements.

Here's my guess.....

Lorenzo bids for the open seat at Honda .... this works pretty well for everyone.

Rossi after a little success then disappointment, returns to Yamaha.

Ducati grasping at straws hires someone who is getting cut ( Spies ? ) or on the way up ( Crutchlow ? )

That's my guess ...

Rossi will not return to Yami. They'll (He & JB) get that Duc working.

I don't see any reason why Lorenzo would leave Yami.. both seem very happy.

Yeah I think Lorenzo stays at Yamaha and Crutchlow gets Spies' seat.

The extra Honda seat does get very interesting now though.

Here's my guess:

Yamaha:
Lorenzo
Crutchlow

Tech 3:
Dovizioso
Hayden

Ducati:
Rossi
Bautista

Honda:
Pedrosa
Bradl

Gresini Honda:
Marquez (a factory bike)

LCR Honda:
Ianonne

Pramac Ducati:
Pol Espargaro

The rookie rider rule makes things really difficult for the factory seats. Their hands are almost forced.

Ah crap...completely forgot about that, due in large part because Bradley Smith is a mid-pack runner in Moto2!

If Spies doesn't turn it around soon he may be back in WSBK. He's likely to stick around, but on a satellite ride somewhere. I just listed a few of the teams above. Maybe a second LCR bike, or Gresini goes to two prototypes?

What to do with Hayden now? Hmmmm...

Guys, don't you see that Spies is choking purposely so that Honda has a better chance of retaining the title with only Lorenzo to worry about.. This agreement will allow Spies to go with Honda next year in place of Stoner. That is my theory..

rossi said he'd stick it out another couple years. didn't say with who. i say he leaves ducati and takes stoner's seat. jorge stays with yamaha, but spies gets bumped and goes to ducati.

Ah yes, but Honda also said "no doors are closed" over the weekend.

That said, I don't see Rossi returning to Honda either.

I think that comment indicates that they were counting on Stoner .... and have little faith in Pedrosa long-term.

I bet they make a hard play for Lorenzo .... I really do.

Hayden says "screw this moto gp crap" and comes back home to bask in his pile of money and race flat track. All the new up and coming kids smoke his slow, old lazy ass.

The Moto Gp thing is cool no doubt but I'd really like to see some good old flattrack out of him before he hangs it up.

Hayden will definitely be back in flat track evenually...he'll run the miles if nothing else. Shit he could run the miles well in to his 40s if he wanted to.

I must admit one of the coolest thangs was when the 3 hayden boys got on the podium in that one TT race a few years ago.

"Hayden's Hollow"...that was the Springfield TT. Last one is this weekend! The IMDA is shutting down the Saturday races after this season.

Yep, this is the last year...unless something changes. First heat is usually around 7:30pm. I've got to talk to Jim and see if he's heading down there.

I almost put that in there...man I hope that happens, but don't see it. Frickin' Pedrosa is still there, and hasn't done sheeit!

I don't see why Hayden would be riding for Tech3. I don't see why Ducati would let him go. I think he has been valuable to them.

I think Bradl will be on the Honda, so I would have to say I agree with you there.

I think Hayden's factory time may be winding down...with all the guys coming out of Moto2 maybe he'll get one more year, but I think next season will be a big changing of the guard, with most of the satellite seats filled with first year guys to get the rookie rule nonsense out of the way.

I think Hayden can do very well and really after all he's sacrificed, how hard he's worked I think Ducati owe it to him to keep him on...I'm not sure he wants to stay there. Tech3 has been a landing spot for ex-factory riders. I think Hayden would be a good fit there...
