AMA MX - Lakewood CO - Round 3 - SPOILER

So, do you think the Bubba incident of the "Track Worker On Track" holds water? - I can see Bub's point but dude was already off his line when he was in mid air and no where near him when he landed - I get that it can throw you off a bit and maybe caused him to take a diff line into the rutts but really? - What if a Bird flys by while you are in mid air and you loose focus? - is the Bird at fault?

My personal .02 is he went into the rutts hot as he knew RD was coming and lost it, whether dude was on track or not - His crash was a good 75 feet past where he landed and where his "sight" caught the worker 3/4s of the way across the track - By the time Bubs landed, dude was off track

I saw it but didnt know why the guy was on the track. ???
I can see how that would bust your concentration.

I heard his hand is not good? Is he out i hope not? I like the fact that this makes the points race conversational.

Not sure about the season ending injury or not - I am hard pressed to think THAT really threw him off that much to where 75 feet after he landed he crashed - YES, he may have taken his eye off to see where the guy was going and lost concentration causing him to take a different line into the rutts but how is that REALLY different then a fan waving something on the side of the track or a Bird flying over? - The guy was basically off the track by the time Stewie landed

Alright Bug, imagine you are at the kink on the long straight at RA sumo track WFO 5th gear on the husky and right when you get to the kink some ahole steps on the track and your aiming for a 6" wide line?groove 50 yrds up the hill at 60+ mph, do you think it might throw you off alittle? i want to see the helmet cam fottage in normal speed as the slow mo doesnt capture how close it looked to bubba, also most would think, which way is dude gonna go, to left of bubba or run right in front of bubba like a squirel on the rd, we panic when one runs out as we dont know if its gonna run off the rd or under our tire.

I know its questionable wether or nt it affected bubba but at these speeds they are running and trying to aim for a specific 6" wide rut in muddy conditions at 60 mph concentraion is crucial.

I thought it was Yamaha's fault?

Yes, yes, it's Yamaha's fault. No wait, a photographer...wait wait wait, it was the tires. Hold on, it was the tuff blocks...wait a sec, it was a backmarker....hold on a minute, it was tricky soil.............................................. .................................................. ..............

To be honest, that was a bit of a bonehead move by dude in question...but this is a bit of a broken record.

gopro is deceptive. from his helmet cam it looks like he rode past the "crosser" quite a bit before crashing. which he did. but if you see the front view you will notice he gets out of shape almost immediately after he lands. he struggles with the bike, before finally washing out.

imo the guy was of course "a factor" in the crash. how much only james knows. hope he is okay and 100% for highpoint.

I get the points but if you look, he is in mid air when he sees the guy who is already 3/4 the way across the track - When you see the Fuel TV front shot (search utube) yo see that he does not adjust in mid air at all - Instead, he lands and rips it about 75 feet before he cross ruts that section - Yes, I get that seeing that might throw a rider off but how is that different then a piece of paper blowing across the track (out of your way) or a fan waving something you see out of the corner of your eye or said bird Refernece ???

I too hope he is okay because I wanna see him tested and Dungey tested too - I just find his excuse a tad "weak"

Here's another view:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOxCuJXIL_Q

It for sure doesn't look like JS wrecked in an attempt to avoid hitting the guy when landing or even after landing. I don't think he ever said that either. It looks possible like he may have gone to the outside of the turn vs. the inside to avoid taking the line where the guy was standing when he first (or soon after) saw him. He had a split second to make that decision. Not knowing if the guy was going to move or make it off in time, he may have chosen to go outside where the ruts were deeper, softer, nastier. He got into them and wrecked. Yeah, the guy got off the track. But we can see that after the fact. JS was just landing when that guy was moving completely off. He would probably have already made his decision to not cut to the inside and was committed to it. You can see after JS, RD comes over the jump already lining up for the inside of the turn. That's what makes me think the riders preferred the inside.

Anyway, who knows? When he called me to talk it over I sent him to voicemail because Dancing with the Stars was coming on. JS is something like 36 or 38 back from Dungey.

What vid you watching Homie? - He was half way across the track when Bubs hit the jump - 3/4 of the way across when he was in mid air and all the way across when he landed................then traveled 75 feet to cross rut

My take is Bubs knew RD5 was pressing and WE ALL KNOW what Bubs does under pressure........he crashes - RD5 was showing him a wheel or two the previous round and he knows he is getting faster on that Katoom

Said it above and still state that "Yes" I am sure in his sight he may have caused him to lose concentration but how is that different from anything else that causes you to lose focus? - YOU lost the focus - I would ACTUALY have some respect for him if he came out and said, "I lost focus which caused me to crash" and not IMMEDIATELY blame something or in this case, someone else
