a couple bad highsides during qualifying took out Stoner with a possible torn ligament in his ankle and Nicky took a bad one and was knocked out. He did sit up and waved as he was loaded into the ambulance. he is supposed to be OK.

Hayden also has a concussion, I guess he lost consciousness for a bit.
Shame about Spies' crash, he was flying and would have been on the front row.

Yeah those high sides were pretty serious. Werent they all pretty much in the same corner?

It was wild to see spies get on his secondary bike and stay on form.

They where all in the exact same spot, Turn 14 which is a very fast left hander. Even Rossi lost the rear a little bit in that spot. Many of the other riders (like Jorge) were running double kneesliders on their left only to prevent too much lean angle on that side.

Man I swear some dudes at Yami are trying to kill Ben. First a broken swingarm, now a blown motor. It happened right in front of us too. He was doing at least 180-190 before the kaboom.

Man, whomever said that at Yahama can eat a dick. No way anyone will say that to Rossi though, and he's mentally checked out: http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/Aug/120817ii12.htm

Spies is putting more out there on the track than the rider they hired for next year. I don't see Rossi high siding himself to the moon like Stoner, Spies, and Hayden. I saw Rossi wiggle the rear a few times in T14 in the same exact spot during QP, but he stayed on the bike. That's the difference between 100% and anything less than.

Thats how you judge how a guy is pushing to 100%? - Maybe Rossi has ridden enough to know the limits.......that and he is not really known as a crasher......???

I was cracking up when I saw that back marker backing it in to a corner while Lorenzo calmly entered the corner at the same speed without the theatrics then made a kicking motion at the back marker as he passed him. What an idiot

That was Rapp . In all fairness I don't think the blue flag was waved but he had to heard that M1 on his ass.

No one can tell me Rossi has given 100% on that bike this year. Stoner gave 100% (and sometimes over) and crashed it or put it on the box. He didn't roll around in 10th place complaining about everything (he rolled in 1st, still complaining about everything LOL). Stoner, Hayden, and Spies all flipped themselves over the moon this weekend. Rossi is mentally checked out, there is no reward for further risk. As Julian Ryder has said, it's like an 8 race funeral procession.

But that ship has sailed, and we'll see what happens next year. He'll most like podium often as there will only be two other top riders back so on paper he should get 3rd by default.

I'm begining to see why Spies is leaving. A shit year with a bunch of technical problems and then that comment.

So that was the Attack Kawasaki? what a POS. Not only did he probably hear the M1 behind him but he was just passed by a midget in bright orange and blue livery so he should've been on the look out.

Why are there wild cards? Not being sarcastic. I really don't know why.

AFAIK the CRTs are wildcard entries too. Friggen Edwards getting lapped again. Wouldn't be suprised to see him pull out a 1911 and shoot out the passing bike's tire Would make the races more exciting at least. The first 4 laps were great and then I sort of tuned out...

Maybe Rossi has checked out but then the same argument can be made for Stoner and he's on a darn winning machine. Both Stoner and Rossi had three seasons on the Honda (Stoner came in 06 on the Honda and only got 119points). Rossi came on the Duc and only got 139 points last year. Rossi has 2 championships on the Honda. Stoner only one. So since Rossi can ride the Honda better I guess that evens things out. Sorry, I'm just so tired of hearing the Ducati argument...

Oh and Rossi was the only one scraping hard parts yesterday. Out of the 28 laps he sparked the place up on turn 1 at least 10 times. I might have it on video or pics I was trying to catch. I'll post up if I do.
