Some back story from Soup.

Quote:
Most of the American delegation of Grand Prix legends including King Kenny Roberts, Freddie Spencer, Eddie Lawson and Kevin Schwantz spent Labor Day weekend in Japan at the Suzuka Circuit. They were joined by Wayne Gardner, Kork Ballington and many others.
Suzuka has held several 50th anniversary events in 2012 and invited a huge number of racers to take part in a two and four wheel event last weekend.
Almost amazingly, in the above YouTube video, Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Gardner actually speak. When they were racing, the pair could barely stand to be in the general vicinity of each other.
The aggro between the pair dates back to Schwantz beating Gardner at the Japanese Grand Prix of Suzuka in 1988. On the podium afterward, as the story goes, there was an exchange between Gardener and Schwantz where Gardner told Schwantz he should enjoy this win as he'll "never win another one".
Schwantz, again, as the story goes, replied something to the effect of "I'll piss on your grave, old man".
As seen in the video, Schwantz wastes no time in pointing out to Gardner that he's going to have endure the indignity of actually riding Freddie Spencer's bike instead of his own for the coming lap.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.
