Definitely a different race. Don't agree with the black flag on a first race of this type for MotoGP. Hopefully Marquez and Honda will learn how to follow any new rules for Japan

did u see his tire? he is lucky he didnt hurt himself or take someone else out in the process.

precautions were put in place for a reason this weekend. he most certainly deserved to be black flagged.

the fact that pedrosa came in on lap 9 makes the team's "plan" seem even more absurd. im sure there was a riders meeting where everything was explained. its not like half the field came to the same conclusion.

even pedrosa's statements seemed to try to pass his own mistake off on the flag to flag confusion. pit lane speed limit seemed clearly marked to me. and the fact that he was the only one in the field to commit that error only highlights it was his own fault.

sure circumstances were not ideal, but everyone had to deal with the same thing. they dropped the ball and the team is lucky that marc passed pedrosa before he was black flagged.

Totally agree MM and team dropped the ball.

I believe the black flag ruling by Dorna was primarily used to create controversy, shrink the championship point gap and increase excitement and ratings for the next two races.

dont know if you have been following racing this year... at the speeds involved injuries can be severe, lives can be ended. a tire failure is a serious safety issue. black flag was the right call.

by your logic tell me why dorna didnt give marquez more points on his license then? another point would have required a back of the grid start. so last time why not give him three points instead of two? it would be exciting, no?

How is the black flag to causing controversy??? They were told specifically at the riders meet that you if you don't come in you are getting black flagged plain and simple. It wasn't moto gp's fault it wasn't honda's fault it was MM's fault. He was told to come in and he didn't. The whole world saw his pit board and he fucked up plain and simple.

I agree it was a crazy race. A dnf next race fro MM will be the icing on the cake for a great final race.

do you have a link to that story?

the story I read said his team told him to stay out the extra lap. said they misinterpretted the rule, thinking that as long as they came end before completion of the 11th lap (meaning only 10 full laps had been completed) that they were ok. in the story I read, MM said he followed what his pit board told him to do.

I believe I saw this as well. Team knows what they are doing. MM fucked up. The team is probably sharing the blame as to not throw MM under the bus.

According to Edwards they never had the riders meeting.

Interesting is that none of you are blaming B-stone nor Dunlop. They f-ed up big time, not acceptable.

Seems pretty clear to me. Rules are rules. If motogp said riders had to cartwheel between bike swaps, they would have to do it. I didn't see the pit board, but it looks like everyone else knew the rules.

Thats a given Trust me I think everone who watched and participated thought it was BS the stones would not even go half the distance (13 laps) much less the whole race distance 27 laps.

True, but two other riders made the same error.

To the comments about the b-stones, this is an example of why the control tire concept is flawed and should be eliminated.

I saw the race. Loved MM coming out of the pits and thinking that he was just fine taking Lorenzo's line away from him while Lorenzo and Pedrosa were at warp speed. What the heck was MM thinking on that one?

Oh and one other thing. How come the coverage of these races sucks so bad? Near the end of the race they are showing the battle for 3rd. OK that was some good stuff. They cut away way too late to barely show Lorenzo crossing the line. They then cut back kind of way late to see just the tail end of the battle for 3rd. Who is ever in the truck directing what camera's to use sucks. They should also do some split screen stuff or better replays after the fact to catch more of the battles near the end of these races.

It is racing, there was no issue there, he was on track infront, all of them would do the same. It seems many of you forgot how "dirty" Lorenzo and Pedrosa were before becoming primadonas. At least JLo can backup his attitude with two titles.

I would rather watch a battle between 3 people than watch someone riding around by themselves. I think this is why they are doing the coverage that way.

On another note did anyone catch qualifying ? Lorenzo hit a seagull on his flying lap and it got stuck in his fairing. Just more crazyness from down under. Check out the video.

pedrosa was actually much more critical of the way marc came back on track. he said something to the effect, i dont know what he (marc) was thinking.

i was surprised. jorge's feeling was, and i agree, that it was a racing indecent. both share fault. all things being equal the rider on track has right of way in this instance. but jorge was slightly wide, he admits as much. marc was aggressive as always, his style. an thats why he is on the verge of a title.

Yes I agree with that but they did a super crappy job in covering both aspects. The winner crossing the line and then when they had plenty of time to cut back to the race for 3rd they come back way too late.

Well I didn't forget how dirty any of them were. That had nothing to do with how MM came onto the track. It was stupid. It would have done him no good to get crashed out and maybe injured. MM wasn't running at the speed of the others and was on a fresh bike with tires that weren't scrubbed. There is racing and there is pure stupidity. That was pure stupidity.
