He should go back to WSBK with Nick and have a USA Domination over all the Britts

Mladin was definitely gifted, in the AMA. But it is far too ironic that he never had the balls to try anything else. Me thinks ye old stinky pussy finger needs to get pointed somewhere else...

And if I had Spies' portfolio I'd probably be thinking the same thing. My life is set now, why risk anymore than I have to????

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

so nobody buys the fact that he wouldnt be competitive anymore?

shoulders are the most complicated joint in the body. i dont think he had a choice. unless he wants to be battling with lanzi for the rest of his career

Idk, think his head got messed up at the end of the factory Yami ride, as much if not more than his shoulders. It is sad to see.

First two things that came to mind when I read about this:
1) Hopefully this is just a way for him and Ducati to contractually part ways and he'll be back somewhere in 2015
2) What's Mary gonna do now

He won the Aussie SBK Championship, no? - On a 500 too I think - He did some fill ins in WSBK too I think - He was in the prime of the AMA and made great $$ and still holds the most Championships in AMA History - No one said shit when Foggie did nit go to GP and stayed in WSBK did they? - I loved Mladin - No nonsense, no BS, racing is my job and I am good at it and support a family and retired well from it

He raced a Cagiva 500 in GP in 1993. He had a best finish of 6th.

Yes, I remember when he was with Cagiva, back when he thought having a tail was cool. I might even have a few of those races on VHS somewhere. And I can understand his reasoning for staying put where he wasn't being challenged much so as to support his family.

As for him being an asshole, Like he said, he's here to do a job, not make friends. But I completely agree with BH. Guess that was another reason he was content in the AMA, racing was just a job at that point, not a desire.

That escapes me as all I remember in those days was Duc loving Foggy as much as they loved Jesus himself and WSBK not wanting to let him go...........and then Edwards came along

For as much as I bust everyones balls for being a Spies fan and saying he will never podium in the GP ranks ect I am not giving him shit for this. Shit the guy is one of the best riders out there (only within a second or 2 of the top guys) gets a huge paycheck from Ducati and retires. I wish I could retire at his age. props to him for doing what he loves and getting paid to do it. You never know he might come back in 2015 with another team.
