flash card losing pictures

I don't know if i should put this in computer section.

How common is it to lose pictures on the flash card? I lost a movie on my camcorder. And I went through my camcorder menu and it had a fix file system, and recovered my video.

I notice my digital camera card seems to be missing 100 files, and I'm running a recovery software.

Can this be from reviewing the pictures and shutting the camera too soon? or not formatting the flash cards?

yes shutting off the camera too soon while the card is still being accessed can cause data loss

with flash cards and usb drives adn such you lucky to get anything back from a file recovery in my experience, once its gone off there its gone, theres no magnetic remenant to rebuild from like in a normal HDD

It's common if you turn it off or remove it before it's done writing out to the card completely or if you have a bad card (they also will eventually go bad after a certain amount of use).
