Seriously, I need to learn how to crop. I like all these better than any of mine. I never think to take pictures of random stuff like that. What lens are you using?

i think your right, i didn't like her 1st picture but over all i like them. i think she composes more then you do, to draw the attention of focus to it.

i dont maybe i am all wrong.

Why thank you Moparboyy...Why use the now outdated D70s, when the D80 is sitting their right next to it pleading to be shot w/? My camera feels neglected, but hey...it just doesn't satisfy my needs like it used to

Crop? Or do you mean compose? All of these are straight off of the camera with minor level adjustments, no croppage. I wouldn't say there is anything to learn about composing an image...yes there are books on it, techniques ect. Its really just a matter in taking a look at the things you take for granted...getting in closer and providing the viewer with the angles to appreciate what about those things inspired you. A straightforward shot tells me nothing about what you saw to make you want to shoot. Emphasize the height, color, solitude...ect. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it does in my head hah...its a hard thing to explain and a hard think to learn/teach.

I'm using a 17-50 mm lens today, something I'm a bit unaccustomed to, and had some issues with in the real bright areas.

I agree the first one isn't technically sound, but I like how it washed out....sort of creates a dreamy/hazy effect

The apples and weeds photos just looked cropped to me. I agree that composure can't really be 'taught' and it's more a flare for the artistic. I'm getting better at it, although I find my favorite photos from a day of shooting typically are not the ones I thought would be that great while snapping them, and the ones I thought looked really good in the viewfinder turn can out kinda of blah.
