Dammit

I thought I was just getting dark shots because of the overcast skys and the nature of castles and cathedrals. Turns out the ISO on my camera had been adjusted to 200 for all my honeymoon pictures. On to photoshop for me.

Ouch. Boosting the brightness in Post Production is going to add noise.

If you get a bit too noisy, I can hook you up with Noise Ninja or some such if you don't already have it.

I dont fuck with the iso, there is no need to move it off of 400 in my opinion unless doing really low light stuff. I remember when it happened, you changed it at BHF's last track day.

Instead of adjusting the brightness, try image---> adjustments---> shadows/highlights

you may get the look your after without adding the noise brightness will.

You can record an Action in PhotoShop and have it go through and apply it to all the photos in a folder. Have it save to a different folder, don't overwrite the originals.

Hey shut it , I use the batch processing for resizing, and creating my web photo galleries, just didn't know you could do other processes with photoshop automatically.

Really, I shoot in the lowest ISO setting that available conditions can afford. I use ISO 200 almost exclusively outside in sunny days, and even for night shots with a tripod.

I'm getting in the habit of checkin all the settings before I start shooting each time I break out the camera: ISO, White Balance, Mode (since the wheel does get bumped sometimes), image quality/size/format, stuff like that.
