So is that 3 of us now that have the D300? I have one, YZF Rob has one, and Lonely Raven has one. Trident, do you have one? Or are you a Canon shooter?

Anyways, congrats on the new acquisition. Ask away if you have any questions. It's certainly a lot of camera to learn (depending on what you came from) but with a little time behind the controls, everything becomes second nature.

I'm not worthy though. I just found out Vista doesn't accept the raw files and I need to upgrade to CS3 or get Capture NX. Grrrr.

Check in the box. I know the first 300,000 or so that were sold came with Capture NX in the box.

You may have either received the CD or in some cases I have heard that you receive an activation code and you can download the program online.

Give it a look.

I wonder if I'm one of the 300k. I'll look tonight, I got the ViewNX and transfer CD, but no CaptureNX CD.

The Capture NX should have a pic of a girl in an orange dress on it. Mine came it it.

The RAW files of the new D300 and D3 are a big complaint with me.

Then again for how much these cameras are, you should get a full version of NX and camera control pro 2 with the camera. Keep teh trail versions for teh D40/60 and maybe the 80.
