Day 2

Glenn Highway heading north, on my way to Ft. Richardson in the early morning.

Heading up Arctic Valley Road at the end of my workday. No Alison trip is complete without pics of snow-covered roads!

A view from Arctic Valley Road, late in the day.

Another shot from Arctic Valley Road, late in the day.

A view towards downtown Anchorage, from Arctic Valley Road

Facing West, overlooking Ft. Richardson from Arctic Valley Road. Elmendorf AFB is just beyond Ft. Richardson (to the West)

Sweet pics. It should be really easy to get laid up there, since you gotta be one of the 5 or so females that still have teeth.

Yeah, i was asked out three times today. Just "nice guys" offering their companionship so I don't have to sightsee or eat dinner alone...

How do you complement women from Alaska?

Nice tooth!

Why is that? I didn't think it was all that bad. Just another small town. It's a nice place to do some sea kayaking.

Thanks, guys. It's so funny I took like 20 pictures of this damn mountain and none came out well and I stared at them forever and realized it was the tree off to the side that looked the best. That picture was sort of the evil stepchild and it turns out everyone likes it. I'm happy!

You think I'm kidding?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whittier,_Alaska

90% of the town lives in this building:

If you offered to pay me $1,000,000 to live in this town for a year I'd still probably not do it. If I did do it, I'd either leave the next year with a serious alcohol problem or in a bodybag with a bullet lodged in my brain.

More Wednesday Pics

I took so many pictures to try and get some good ones. I'm really not as happy with these as I thought I would be.
