Looks good!

The D50 is a fantastic camera to step into the D-SLR world!

If you're plans are to do Macro shots, or just detail shots in general, I highly recommend you look into the Nikon 60mm Micro f/2.8. It's one of the sharpest and most detailed lenses available under any system. And, being a 60mm, it's good for portraits and short to medium ranged stuff as well!

great camera. have fun.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
