OK, do I use the same lens pen I use on my rifle scopes to lean these lenss as well?

what if dust gets inside the camera or the insde of the lens?

The d100 has an availale LCD guard, does the D50 have that as an option?

More stupid questios to follow

I recommend blowing the dust off of the outside of the lens with a blower, don't use your mouth or spit will get on it. Then, use a small amount of spray and wipe. I found the paper type of wipes to be the best.

I'm guilty and use the microfiber on my UV filter, which is like a protecting cover on the lens and I highly recommend getting one if you don't already have one.

Not sure about the LCD guard, I can't remember...

Are two very good online stores, beware of online stores, there are a lot of spoofs out there.

The D50 does not come with an LCD cover. I never used one of any kind when I owned the camera, and as you can see, there aren't any scratches on it. Now, I don't know how rough and tough you like to get with your cameras, but you could get some of that clear plastic stick on stuff and put that over the LCD on the back. I have heard it works really well.

As for cleaning the sensor, I recommend a rocket blower. I only had to clean the sensor on that camera a couple times and the blower did a great job at blowing off the dust.

As for cleaning lenses, I'm sure the stuff you use on your scopes will work for cleaning the lenses, but camera stores sell cheap $5 lens cleaning kits that work just as well.
