Thinking about Getting This Camera...Want Opinions

I'm looking at getting a new camera, Don't really want a full DLSR, but still want something with decent optical zoom. I've come across this recently, and it seems like a decent compromise between DLSR and standard point and shoots. What do some of you think?? If anyone knows of something with similar features/specs I should check out, let me know.

Lowest Price I found was here...Anyone have any experience with these guys?

Use caution with online sellers.

Check with http://www.resellerratings.com first

This site doesn't look so good. http://www.resellerratings.com/store..._Video#reviews

Nice choice on a good camera.

Thanks on that site, I'll be using that in the future! Looks like I won't be ordering from them, sounds like that digitalnerds.com scam all over again.

+1 on both of these. I've ordered from both, I think from Mort's recommendation, and have nothing but good things to say.

I'm so impulsive...I ended up ordering from amazon...I got the camera, and 8gb Sandisk SDHC card, and an SDHC reader for $398 shipped. Not bad imo, and I order from amazon all the time and they have great customer service, and the 30-day price guarantee rocks! I ended up getting over $80 in refunds on the GPS I bought from them. I just always make sure it's sold by amazon, and not the various other vendors that sell on there. Man, I can't wait to get that sucker!

I have a Nikon Coolpix and like it for its price. A literal point and click (which is all I require it to do). Had some problems with red-eyes but thats a minority of the times.

Avoid 86th street photo. Its another one of the Brooklyn "stores" that "upsells" you things that COME in the box. Half teh time its grey market stuff.

Avoid ALL online stores from the NYC/LI/Brooklyn (especially Brooklyn) area except B&H, Adorama, Cameta and Beach Camera

Not sure about the Nikon...I had a Panasonic FZ-30 which has now been replaced with the FZ-50 and loved it. Fantastic SLR-like camera.

I read some reviews that made some comparisons of the Nikon's and Panasonic's...Seemed to be competetive with those and excelled in some categories.

Thanks! I forgot about beach camera. They had it for $6 bucks cheaper and free shipping, could've saved myself $13 on the camera, but the SD cards and readers were way cheaper on amazon.
