Official Photo Challenge #12 Colors

R U L E S:- The host gives you a topic of interest and you get going. You post ONE image (only first image by one person will be judged) that is relevant to the challenger theme. You can change your image as many times as you like before the deadline.

- The host chooses a winner *AND* runner-up after closing. The decision of the judge (the Host!) is final. The judge is *not* eligible. The winner then chooses the next topic, tells everyone when the photo's must be posted by (give some reasonable amount of time like a week), runs the challenge, judges the winner and passes on the baton to that person. Winner/Host, please post a reasonable topic that someone who's not a pro photographer can be a part of. Remember it's not just cool shots, but the story that can be told for some.

- If the winner fails to post a new challenge within 48 hours of being declared the winner then the runner-up should post the new challenge within a further 24 hours.

- Any picture you've taken is eligible regardless of time taken and camera it was taken with. You can do all the post processing you want. However, it is most helpful if you list your camera, lens and exposure info along with your photo.

- All levels welcome. If you don't have the best lens or just a plain old pocket camera but your shot tells a wonderful story then there's no reason you can't win! This is about overall photo's and their story, not just about expensive equipment.

- Feel free to comment on other contestant's images. If you want someone to leave you a piece of constructive criticism, ask for it...after all we are here to learn too and practice.

- Provide any additional information concerning your entry you want. Explaining how the shot might relate to the topic could help too.

- Winner/Host, please copy and paste these rules into the topic and thread that you post because some might start doing contests later and miss the first one.

1st off, thank you for the second place nod, I'm still getting used to this camera and I'm going to attempt to continue this challenge and will give it until Monday June 2nd morning to conclude b/c of the long wkend and weird week and I'm out of town away from my pics.

For the next challenge, the focus is color, I'd like to have complimentary or contrasting colorful shots with good composition. Either day or night shots with or w/o flash. I figured now that its getting nicer we need to show off the outdoor changes. I know it's not that specific but I'll throw in mine to give you an idea. Now I just need your ideas to help pic my best, I know I'm already breaking the rules but haven't had any good constructive photographic criticism in awhile. Good luck.

The only thing I will say is I do not think COLOR is the focus of your pics. They are great flower shot especially the one with the house (Top row Right) but they do not say color to me.

Obviously not my submission just playing with Ody, to show him that vagina flowers are real art.

Ken, your macro shots kill me...they are really good. We need to get you a better camera or lens or something...I think it's the hardware holding you back.

I agree with Paladin on the yellow flowers and house shot. That's your strongest of the bunch SS. Also, great find on that Georgia O'Keefe shot...just proves that Ody has a good eye (unless he had that painting in mind when he took the shot, but I doubt it).

thanks guys. for some reason no matter how much i work i always seem to spend the 3000.00 i want to spend on a good set up on bills or painting projects. its a never ending battle hopefully 1 day maybe someone donates me a decent camera, which i promise to do good things with as always.
