Alaska Photos

These are my first real attempts to post-processes any of my vacation photos. I typically shoot in JPEG, but I switched to RAW mode during some rare photos ops like up-close wildlife or a clear sky above Mt. McKinley.

Used Photoshop CS3 to tweak the white balance and vignetting a tad, then added different borders and titles. These are my favorites so far:

Wicked shots. I can't get into photography stuff but I can appreciate the quality of the product. You keep taking them and we'll keep looking at them.

That was at Valdez Harbor; this eagle was dive bombing some halibut carcasses looking for an easy meal. I was actually backed down to about 135mm on that shot, he was probably 8 feet from me. They are huge birds!

There she is!!!! (even though my last posts are gone for all time )

I love that mountain. My buddy just invited me on a team to try her again in April. I haven't decided if I'll go.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I bleed GREEN

I finally got my photos from our vacation in Alaska online. Here's a handful of my favorite shots throughout our travels.

4-wheeling at Ft. Greely with a C-130 circling above

The pipeline south of Delta Junction

Some goofy sea lions hanging out in Valdez Harbor

Paddling around bits of what used to be Columbia Glacier

On the road down to Homer

Hovering above Godwin Glacier

Midnight in Godwin Glacier with the Windward dog sled team

Mush! Mush!

Mischievous pups

Grrrrr!

Hiking the Savage River trail in Denali

Some Dahl Ram snuck up behind us

Polarizers are great for rainbows

A brave Snowshoe Hair

Halfway into the interior of Denali National Park

Deep into the McKinley Bar Trail

A lazy grizzly

The only speed limit sign in Alaska without bullet holes
