Some new gun shots.

My wife built a really cool Homemade light box for her candle and soap making shots. so of course I had to try it out for my guns. Turns out it works awesome. She did a great job on it.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Nice pics. How about one of the thing she built :P

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

Nice shots! Her light box looks well done, and those are great bulbs for the work.

A more solid tripod and/or using the timer or a remote would also help sharpen up your already great shots.

Yup, i do have a remote. they could be sharper some of that is from the post processing. she uses iPhoto for processing, which ads some noise on resizing, next time I'll do it in cs3 and get it right.

I figured you'd be all over that.

Now I want to rebuild my light box! I've been stressing so much about work and the house, I've not done any macro photogrpahy this winter.

The box I built was PVC framed with really thin white sheets, and clip on lights with daylight colored CFL bulbs on the outside (diffused) shining in from the sides and top. It was when I first started photography, and my white balance was terrible. I wound up selling the setup to a friend and never built another one.

Your wifes setup looks much easier than mine.

Oh, one other thing...a long, smooth piece of white matt board bent and installed on the back wall so you don't have that corner in the back of your shots would help as well. Though your layouts are so good you really don't notice it (or phtoshop it out later).
